Nickel-and-dime hustler, or something worse?
The Cleveland Plain Dealer ^ | Sunday, May 21, 2006 | Christopher Evans Amanda Garrett, Mark Rollenhagen, and Mike Tobin

Posted on 05/22/2006 4:02:09 AM PDT by EBH

The trio of Muslim men in a Washington, D.C., hotel room never noticed the tiny camera hidden by the FBI.

As their conversation in 2002 turned toward raising money for their group -- which agents suspected of promoting fundamentalist Islam in Iraq -- a New York doctor mentioned a friend, a poor but devout Muslim always coming up with money-making schemes.

"One of the brothers from Toledo, Marwan El-Hindi, called me several times and told me that you are able to get federal grants," the doctor, Rafil Dhafir, said. "And it is large grants..."

...The pudgy, bushy-bearded father of seven embraced a form of Islam that shuns modern ways and, at its most extreme, drives the jihadist movement against the West. He wandered through rust-belt Muslim communities, brushing against Islamic organizations and individuals, some of whom federal investigators believe are parts of an international network of terror. Federal agents shut down one charity amid allegations it funded the militant Palestinian group Hamas and believe that two other groups that El-Hindi worked with have loose ties to Osama bin Laden.

But it wasn't until El-Hindi met a smooth-talking, Special Operations Army vet that he became a suspected terrorist himself.

El-Hindi began his American life in 1984 as a college student in Syracuse, N.Y. His uncle Ahmad settled there in 1947, the year before the family's Palestinian village became part of Israel...

This is a long article, but well worth reading if you missed it on Sunday. Take a look at the graphic chart too. Although the chart is a good job as an overview, they missed a few other links or didn't consider them high enough on the radar. Follow over to Damra and realize he is/was a Imam right here in Cleveland to one of the largest, richest mosques in the area. Over a dozen other leaders of that mosque are under indictment (see my profile page for details). They also missed the Smaili connection to attornies here in Cleveland.

I vote for "something worse".

Without even reading entire article. . .we can know safely that this is not a case of a nickel and dime hustler. . .and that 'worse' is operative. . .

Of course Hollywood would never go 'here' to doing authentic films about what is going on here re Muslims operating from their 'trojan horse' mosques. . .

But perhaps, someone could come with a 'blockbuster'. . .of a movie that is.

I am surprised the Plain Dealer even did a special report on this. It will be interesting to see if there is any 'fallout' from their efforts.

It is particularly touching that a "nice" Arab boy would keep a sheep in his backyard. Whatever are you going to do with that sheep?

'CAIR' will be all over this. . .meantime, I hope Cleveland Plain Dealer gets lots of positive feedback re this story.

. . .meantime, they should 'watch their backs'. . .as well.

They have two choices. . .BOTH illegal!

What IS going on here. . .oh. . .'sharia law vs ours'?

Oh, I forgot, they probably have the protections of the Lib court that this is a 'freedom of their religion' thing. . .

This is a movie that may interest you:

http://www.obsessionthemovie.com/

It's called "Obsesseion: Radical Islam's War Against The West." I haven't seen it, but have read good things about it.

And then there's United 93, which I just saw Friday night. Oh my gosh! Have you seen this movie yet? It'll really make your blood boil...

.. .Thanks for the update/info re the entertainment media Muslim 'reach-out - and beware' efforts. . . albeit limited; it is 'something'.

That said, have not seen this movie. . .my blood has been boiling sice 9/11 and don't know if I can handle this. . .perhaps on the 'small screen'; where I am in more control. . .;^)[]/

BTW. . .do you/anybody know if 'Katie'/NBC gave U/93 the same weeks worth of attention that they gave to DaVinci Code? (which I did see. . .)

CAIR AND THE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD ARE THE SAME. GET RID OF ALL WHO FAIL TO ASSIMILATE. DEMAND THAT ALL WHO DO NOT PLEDGE TO PROTECT AMERICA ARE DEPORTED. AND GET GOD BACK IN YOUR LIVES AND YOUR SCHOOLS. NO MORE PC BS.

Well, it followed the book. ..and even though I read it. . .enjoyed it nonetheless. Thought Tom Hanks did a good job and Ron Howard as well.

I am suspecting that much of the Cannes film criticism. . .that is to say their 'over the top' mockery of this film has more to do with their own Christian bias and the fear that this movie; despite it's anti-Chrsitian hype from 'Rightside'. . .will give Christianity an religious/historical 'importance' that they would deny it. . .

Think this movie has the potential to actually move more people towards a Faith or greater committment to the Faith they have - rather than away from it. IMHO. . .

And if nothing more. . .it is an entertaining 'movie'. . .(the Albino and his whip gets tiresome however. . .even with eyes closed ;^) )

I thought that the review of TDVC by Michael Novak at National Review was the best I've seen. Here's the final two paragraphs and the link:

I think I have never for two-and-a-half hours felt so surrounded by decadence and hostility toward Christ. Yet I must admit that the film was glitzy with the art of the makers of thrillers. One could never be sure when one scene, then another, then another, then another, would be cut short by a murderous lunge, a shot ricocheting around a closed space, a door slamming, a car screeching. From one shock to another, one's stomach absorbed punch after punch.

Afterwards, I sure felt like a strong double bourbon. And I felt eager to forget as soon as I can the sheer malicious hatred that swirls up from this film.
