ALEXANDRIA, Va. - A congressman under investigation for bribery was caught on videotape accepting $100,000 in $100 bills from an FBI informant whose conversations with the lawmaker also were recorded, according to a court document released Sunday. Agents later found the cash hidden in his freezer. At one audiotaped meeting, Rep. William Jefferson, D-La., chuckles about writing in code to keep secret what the government contends was his corrupt role in getting his children a cut of a communications company's deal for work in Africa
Don't forget D.C.
Or he would really be in trouble - he would have to wait a few years before getting reelected.
Yeah, but that is from the Houston Chronicle and not YahooNews
I'm so disillusioned ...
;)
No but corruption is to be excused for blacks - that is not racist per the dem party.
But he insisted he has done nothing wrong, and he criticized leaks by unidentified law enforcement sources, urging federal prosecutors "to refrain from this process of death by a thousand cuts."
"Unfortunately, the government seems inclined to view the facts in the worst possible light, and to characterize events that could be explained, or are exculpatory, in ways that tend to incriminate me," he said
This guy is gonna be a good laugh.
Looking at his resume, you have to ask yourself in the long run is it really worth it. This guy could have commanded a hefty salary in civilian life when he chose to step out of politics. I know, I know, I am not blind, he was probably making more on the take in 1 year than any of his attorney buddies were in 5.
Heh, buh bye.
Shocked..shocked I tell you!
;)
I'm sure there is a good explanation for the money in his freezer. Just give him a chance to explain it. /sarcasm
Cool Dudes need Cold Cash...
EXACTLY SO!
He must be taking Ambien. It worked for the other Democrat.
Thanks for the ping...this is delicious!
bttt
Oh, he's not going anywhere. Corruption and wrong-doing is always rewarded within the DemocRATic Party. Expect this guy to be promoted.
