"Experts with the Leon de la Cordillera Genealogical Society ...are working ...to confirm that President Chavez is, indeed, a blood descendant of the Emperor Montezuma."
And you can be certain that they will conclude that he is.

In summary, while Chavezs quest to prove his blood lineage to Montezuma is laughably absurd, it is also somehow fitting that Venezuelas erratic and mentally unstable president should seek to prove that he is Montezumas heir. This is incredible...first we have Iran, China, and Venezuela chatting togother, then Ahmadman claims to be a prophet for the last Imam, now Chavez is claiming to be a descendant of Montezuma. What next?
Oh wait don't tell me...Ahmadman will claim the Aztecs were really muslims and Chavez is the last imam. Wonder what China is going to claim?

I don't know if I would say that. I suspect that he's doing this in order to establish authenticity to the peasants.
I'll be interested to see if his neighbors will tolerate the rise of a neo-Moctezuma in their midsts. My suspicion is that this move by him brings him another step closer to the grave.

Apparently the new communists don't have a problem with royalty.

"If Chavez and Montezuma were blood relatives, the Venezuelan president might demand that the United States return to its rightful owner meaning Chavez all of the territory the U.S. stole from Mexico, including California and Texas."
Come get it, Hugo. If Montezuma couldn't hold it, you certainly won't.

If they're from royal blood it's all right but if a non-communist is then it's death by firing squad.

Wonder what China is going to claim? They're already the Middle Kingdom, between earth and heaven.

Seems there's a slight misunderstanding in linguistics goinig on here. "Montezuma" in the ancient tongue means "he who is of noble blood." While "Moctezuma" means, "that part of a northbound donkey which is facing south."

No, the Olmec society collapsed long before the Aztecs, or Mexicas as they actually called themselves, settled in what is now Mexico City. You may be thinking of the Tlaxcala, the primary people who who joined Cortez to oppose the Aztecs.
