Statistics prove it's damned hard to kill an enemy soldier on the battlefield. That's why the U.S. Marine Corps urges its best marksmen to become snipers--human machines, inhuman patience and precision. From distances up to 3 miles, tomorrow's Marines train to neutralize enemies with one shot from their rifles--a shot that can mean the difference between peaceful surrender and bloody assault. We journey from Vietnam to Africa and Eastern Europe to observe these snipers watching...waiting...firing.

MARINE PING
bump
Thanks for the heads up. I'll watch for it this week.
Amazing people.
The A&E special is on now.
I missed most of it, darn it. From what I did see, even Syrian perps entering Iraq have papers resembling passports.
I wonder if the US Senate is watching what I'm watching...
When you care enough to send the very best!
God Bless our Troops and God Bless Lima Company
We need more shows just like this. These people should be talked about and remembered forever. I'll repeat your words.....God Bless Lima Company....TRUE Heroes.
"When you care enough to send the very best!" Yes INDEED!
I saw it on the on TV guide, but I figured it was another lefty film showing grieving parents and troops saying, "What are we over here for?" so I skipped it. I'll have to watch tomorrow's show 'cuz I love watching snipers.
Of course, Lima Co. was featured exactly because they lost so many men - and one Sgt. basically said so to the interviewer. But the film really did a good job outlining Lima's accomplishments as well as their losses.
God bless those men.
Agreed. The documentary also provides some insight into what may be going down with the "Marine massacre"/Murtha story. There was a clip in which a sergeant said, in the aftermath of a fight that produced some heavy casualties, that he was tempted to pull the trigger on a 16 year old (military age) Sunni, but "something" stopped him.
