Border Patrol agents discovered 91 illegal entrants who had been smuggled into the country in the back of a panel truck Thursday night southwest of Sonoita, an official said Friday.

The Border Patrol received a call around 10 p.m. from someone concerned about possible illegal activity, said Jesus Rodriguez, a spokesman for the agency's Tucson Sector. The caller suspected the truck was picking up illegal entrants.

When Border Patrol agents from Nogales and Sonoita pulled the truck over on Arizona 82 around Milepost 26, about 35 miles south of Tucson. the driver got out and ran into the brush, Rodriguez said.

Inside the truck, agents found the 91 illegal entrants, most of them from Mexico and some from Central America, he said. The driver of the truck was not found.

The illegal entrants were taken to the Nogales processing center, Rodriguez said.

In Maricopa County Arizona Sheriff Joe Aripio is charging not only the Smuggler with smuggling under a recently passed state law but the illegals the smugglers are bringing in with Conspiracy to Commit Smuggling. All are then his guests in the Tent Jail in the Phoenix desert heat, wearing pink underwear, traditional Zebra Prison clothes, being feed on 30 cents a day (green baloney and stale bread) and working on old=fashioned chain gangs.

ACLU to claim with MeChA, MALDEF, LULAC that the evidence is inadmissible and must be excluded from evidence as it was not covered by a search warrant.

Now for your daily Spanish lesson:

"Mojados" (masculine) or "Mojadas" (feminine) = wetbacks.
