This is an interesting perspective on the gains we have had from this latest immigration wave. Consider how Europe stagnates and tries to beef up its population numbers with muslim immigrants. I also remember Ross Perot's campaign of the Giant Sucking Sound. Looks like there must be jobs here in the US after all.

Let’s also not forget that immigrants come here to work, raise families, and assimilate. They would in effect become a much-needed churchgoing blue-collar middle class — an all but forgotten demographic that is crucial to a healthy America.

Let's not forget that some come for welfare benefits.

"1776-2006 (hey at least it's an even 130 yrs!)

Your math abilities go right along with your whiner/moaner groaner abilities. Maybe if your math abilities were a little better, your Illegal Alien whining ability might go down.

If you work on your math skills, you might want to work on your history skills re illegal aliens. If you do, you will find that GW didn't create this problem, and even Ronald Reagan, another great president didn't solve the problem.

Then, finally a little problem solving skills might help. So many of the axis of illegal alien whiners want to destroy the Republicans, GW and give the rats control of Congress again and elect $inator Hilldebea$t as el Presidente to punish evil Republicans. Anyone, who mouths or believes that suicidal wish belongs in another world. Actually, they are mentally in a different world and don't realize it.

This country isn't finished unless we turn control of it (Congress and the office of the President) back to the DemonicRats. If that happens, we can kiss America goodbye, our family, friends and our way of life goodbye.

I would be ok with some sore of plan but I want the borders sealed. Hammer employers who employ illegal workers. Also, what about medical? Employers who employ illegal workers need to provide for them medically. As a taxpayer, I don't want to subsidize them.

Isn't it interesting that since the Welfare Reform of the Nineties that the Dems take credit for, MSM does not do articles on native Americans abusing welfare. The criticism has shifted to the non-natives living here.

I live in a city that is emptying of residents because the 'quality of life' is represented by the TV shows Homicide and The Wire. Our mayor, who has aspirations to be governor of Md, suggested giving a $3000 nestegg to anyone who moves Into the city, no questions asked about immigrant status!!! A city where the blacks are leaving for safer climes, and all the mayor can offer to save his city is subsidized housing to illegals. Our govt officials for the past 20 years have a lot to answer for, and I do not blame the illegals who took advantage of our de facto welcoming policies.

". . .If you think you are entitled to stretch out in your Lazy Boy and run the world to your likeing with a click of the remote control, then think again. This issue starts and ends with citizen involvement in local communities."

Here, I believe, is the important point of Free Republic: Everyone can do something.

Everyone.

"Well, I don't have any "masters." I have elected Representatives put there by my vote. "Masters"....pfft."

You voted for ALL of them? No, at best you voted for a small number of them. You had no say in the selection of the vast majority of people who are your masters. That's the reality.

Jesus Christ is my only Master. To think that those in Washington are "masters" is to subscribe to an idea of powerlessness. I refuse.

Your use of the term indicates little faith in our form of government. I don't agree.

Meanwhile, I have rediscovered the value in reading novels, gardening, and housework.

Or, in other words...

And hope it just goes away.

Isn't it interesting that since the Welfare Reform of the Nineties that the Dems take credit for, MSM does not do articles on native Americans abusing welfare.

There wasn't all that much reform actually, given the EITC. But at least we get work out of more of them instead of sending a monthly check to subsidize their idleness.

And the MSM is never going to say anything nice about the GOP.

the brown-skinned guys I see on worksites are a damn site better than a lot of full-blooded American trash that my tax dollars are freely spent to support

Nobody's arguing that. I, too, like Mexicans. I like Mexican folk culture, Mexican entertainment, and of course Mexican food. I even like the Spanish language. By and large the Mexicans that come here are great people, people who would be a great addition to any country. They are hardworking, religious, and family-oriented people, and I say God bless them.

The problem is not with Mexicans. The problem is that OUR government refuses to defend our borders and enforce our laws. The problem is that the leadership in both parties have discarded the nationalist viewpoint in favor of internationalism. The problem is that our leaders want to see a borderless world, a world where "human resources" and capital are free to flow to whatever location is most advantageous to the multinational corporate bottom line. The problam is that our country is being turned from a nation -- a group of people united by language, borders, and a unique culture -- into just another administrative district of the amalgamated, deracinated universal conglomerate.

The problem is not the Mexicans. The Mexicans are merely a symptom. The problem is that Christendom has been replaced by the Global Village.

Texas and Mexico are not enemies. We are brothers, born of the same mother, the great and Catholic empire of Spain, and the same father, the Spirit of the Alamo. If we remember that heritage, we will survive and thrive together. If we forget, and allow our culture, borders, and languages to be dissolved in a sea of laisser-faire globalism, we lose everything that makes us what we are.

Shall the United States be a nation, or merely a province of the global superstate? Our leaders -- in both parties -- choose the latter. THAT is the problem.

"Your use of the term indicates little faith in our form of government. I don't agree."

I share your faith in Christ which is exactly why I understand the danger that is inherent in government by wicked and fallen men. We are NOT to put our faith in princes, even elected Republican princes. So, I do NOT have faith in our goverment, and you shouldn't either.

Now, as to the form of our government, the vote is not the mechanism that insures freedom. Voting doesn't make you or any of us free. The mechanism that insures freedom is the Constitution which subdues the degenerates that work themselves into power. Our masters in D.C., however, will not be limited by anything. This is why I call them our masters, because they set themselves above all bounds or limits. The only thing the two parties contend about is how to best implement total government domination of everything.

The tremendous third-world Hispanic population transfer of the past 30 years is long over due to end or be severely reduced. But no relief is in sight. Instead we get a Senate and President who are not only dead set on never ending this inflow, but who intend to massively increase it.

Here is what I proprose then. Since we have an estimated 11 million illegals here now, most of whom (I'll say 8 million) are from Mexico/Central America/South America (M/CA/SA) and we assume the rest are from other parts of the world, we need to balance that out? Right? That leaves a differential of 8 million.

So. First, we secure our southern border and northern border. Then, taking up to 3 million legal immigrants, who meet our qualifications, per year from these other ethnic regions around the world. (Note: we are not taking 3 million each, but a total of three million each year till they reach that 8 million goal per ethinc region):

1. The European Union/Great Britain

2. Eastern Europe

3. Russia/The Balkan States

4. China

5. Western Asia

6. Southern Asia

7. The Middle East

8. The African Tribal Nations

9. South Africa

10. New Zealand/Australia/South Pacific

11. The Eskimo/Aleut/Northern Peoples

12. The Carribean

That's the best I can come up with. Any more?

In the meantime (you knew there was one of those, didn't you?) we put a moratorium on immigration from the M/CA/SA region until that quota of 8 million from each of those other regions is met bringing in a limit of 3 million per year regardless of the makeup.

That means we have to bring in 96 million from those other 12 regions. Dividing that by 3 million means that the moratorium on the M/CA/SA region would last 32 years.
