Rev. Al Sharpton got a surprise Tuesday during his national radio broadcast. The preacher was talking to Bill Cosby about his controversial speech at the Spellman College commencement, in which Cosby urged graduates to "pick up the pace" because "most [African-American men] are in prison." As Cosby took calls from listeners, a very special voice came on the line. It was the Natural Woman herself, Aretha Franklin, calling from her home in Detroit. The Queen of Soul backed Cosby's remarks. "It was the ultimate defense from the ultimate black woman," Sharpton told The Post's Stephanie Gaskell after the show.

Hooray! God bless Aretha. It's a hard struggle for these voices to be heard against the 'appointed leaders'(all media creations).

News outside of the communist-inspired MSM playbook is downplayed. I am surprised that they even mentioned that the great Aretha Franklin called.

This is the "president"?
Ha ha?
Is is believable now why "actors" and entertainers were nor allowed in normal peoples homes as little as 100 years ago? There must have been a reason everybody sort of forgot about.
There is something weird about people who appear normal only when pretending to be someone fictional...

Would be great if we could get more info on what she said. I don't think I could take five minutes of Rev Al's voice.

What does it mean to *you*,Reverend Jesse?

If I had to go invade a foreign country, Aretha would be one of the people I'd want going with me. That woman is nothing but brave and intelligent.

Very interesting thing happening. I wonder if now, more and more prominent blacks will start speaking out in support of Cosby? I think the man has been nothing but brave since he first started.
Now Ms. Aretha... she's one formidable babe. Her musican number in The Blues Brothers is one of my favorite in film history. That voice.

It's so great reading good news for once. Even though my tastes in music run to rock/metal, I've always enjoyed Aretha Franklin. It would be nice if she spoke out publicly about these issues. The lady commands respect.
