Disorganized immigration and negligible assimilation are detrimental to totalitarian socialism. To make it work there must be one people, completely tied down, and everyone would have to speak the same language. That was pretty much the whole point. It's easer to control thought that way.

Heck, there are posters on Free Republic (one in particular) who constantly praise illegal aliens and the noble work that they perform for us.
