My mother Marie will be 94 next month, and she has been a faithful Catholic all of her life. She fell and fractured her hip, and, as I post this, she is currently in the hospital awaiting the surgeon's decision on whether he will operate tonight or tomorrow.
Fortunately, her heart and lungs are in good shape, so she is a good candidate for surgery, but she has senile dementia. The source of concern for our family, based on what her primary care physician has said, is that she may not go through rehab well enough to go back home. As I am sure everyone knows, often elderly people go downhill fast after this sort of injury.
Please pray for this dear lady. She raised 9 children, and she has 28 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
Praise to Our Glorious Lord!
My dear Mother has responded well to physical therapy -- yesterday, she began doing stairs -- and she will most likely be released on June 21.
She will be home just in time to celebrate her 94th birthday on June 22!
Thank you, prayer warriors!
WOW!
Congratulations!

Great news my FRiend.
Wish her a Happy Birthday from me.
Adding my prayers.
(The treatments for this type of injury today are improved over what they were even a few years ago. I have seen some amazing recoveries of some very elderly, very fragile people.)
Thanks for the report. I love the old folks. My blind and slightly addled FIL has made his home with us for ten years.
Good news, indeed! To God go the glory!!
Terrific news. Prayers are continuing.
Excellent news! I'm just over half her age and I can't do stairs! That's just wonderful. Two weeks will fly by and her 94th birthday will be quite a bash. Just like her 100th will be! Take care.
great news!
