A mother asked President Bush, "Why did my son have to die in Iraq?"
Another mother asked President Kennedy, "Why did my son have to die in Viet Nam?"
Another mother asked President Truman, "Why did my son have to die in Korea?
Another mother asked President F.D. Roosevelt, "Why did my son have to die at Iwo Jima?"
Another mother asked President W. Wilson, "Why did my son have to die on the battlefield of France?"
Yet another mother asked President Lincoln, "Why did my son have to die at Gettysburg?"
And yet another mother asked President G. Washington, "Why did my son have to die near Valley Forge?"
Then long, long ago, a mother asked... "Heavenly Father, why did my Son have to die on a cross outside of Jerusalem?"
The answers to all these are similar -- "So that others may have life and dwell in peace, happiness and freedom."
This was emailed to me with no author and I thought the magnitude and the simplicity were awesome ...
IF YOU DON'T STAND BEHIND OUR TROOPS, PLEASE, FEEL FREE.........TO STAND IN FRONT OF THEM !!!

That would make a great tagline. Nice post!
GREAT post.
Also stand with our Commader in Chief in this time of war, stand with President George W Bush.
Good work on the pre war docs
Wow, thanks for that, God Bless our precious Troops!
Well said!
May God bless our military!
AMEN TO THAT!
Thanks to Irish Mike for providing a safe haven *smirk* for those of us who respect President Bush.
Thank you very much, just doing my little duty.
Fairly frequent mention by Rush.
BUMP
That was very nice, and here I was cynically expecting a Sheehan thread.
Excellent post, Mike!!
May I send a copy of this to my local news rag? Every so often they need a dose of reality to slap them upside the head.
Please Feel Free.
I found my tagline in a collection of General George S. Patton Jr. quotes.
Thank you and your son, may god guide and protect him.
Why did my son have to die on 911
Because clinton was playing slap and tickle with Monica
Thanks jveritas. So many challenges from the administration before our President Bushes, he's had a full platter of stuff. Without his stick-too-ativeness, we would be in the same position we were in prior to 9/11. No matter what he does, it seems someone will find fault with it. If I were to wear his shoes, I'm afraid I'd tell these people to take a flying leap and come forward and fix it themselves.
Thank you IrishMike. I always mention, we speak freely because of our military. They are the ones up front doing things most people are afraid to do.
