Iran offers EU its own nuclear deal [Iran offers Britain, France and Germany a bribe.]

LONDON, May 18 (IranMania) - Iran offered greater European access to its economy if its nuclear programme was accepted, the exact opposite of a deal currently being put together by the European Union, AFP reported.

"The incentives raised by the Europeans will not replace our rights. They have to recognise our rights," foreign ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi was quoted as saying by the IRNA news agency.

"We are ready to propose economic incentives to the Europeans to obtain our rights, and the market of 70 million Iranians is a part of this," Asefi added.

The EU-3 of Britain, France and Germany plan to offer Iran trade and technology benefits in exchange for the country agreeing to halt sensitive uranium enrichment work.

Enrichment is a process that makes fuel for nuclear power reactors but can also produce the core of a nuclear weapon. Iran insists that it only wants to make reactor fuel and that this is a right enshrined by the NPT.

The Islamic regime has already rejected the EU-3 proposal, before it has even been finalised, and on Wednesday hardline President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad ridiculed the idea of getting "nuts and chocolate" in exchange for "gold".

Asefi, however, said that "as long as we haven't seen the proposal, we cannot comment".

The West is being played the fool. I bet this is selling big time within Iran. This Iranian president is probably now loved by his countrymen.

Britain, France and Germany would do well to remember what happened to Cleopatra when she drew an Asp to her Breast.

"time is running out"

...and the operation is a go, if our President will just give the order. Even the Arab states are ready.

Arabs are a wiley lot and we should never forget or trust. But I foresee EU folding - hope I am wrong.

Iranians are Persian, not Arab.

"This Iranian president is probably now loved by his countrymen."

Only the usual suspects. Most Iranians are too smart.

"This Iranian president is probably now loved by his countrymen."

And this constitutes a good reason to fold to his extortions?

Adolf Hitler was loved by his countrymen, too.

Some folks just never, never learn.

They already folded. Everyone is just waiting for their "No to Attacking Iran" position in the UN.

Good morning. I stand corrected and I knew it when I hit post. Although there have been Arabs in Iran for hundreds of years, over 50% of population are Persian.

Yep, right on. They do have a large Arab minority, and also Kurdish. Many of these larger minorities are also somewhat against the government. I believe other smaller minorities include Pashtuns, Turks, and so on.
