We're talking 25 years population growth. 100,000,000 unassimilated is even too many. 200,000,000 based on your comments might not be feasible but even half that # is enough to cause major problems.
Seal the border now and lets deal with the internal issue of identifying and counting those that are already here.
Shortly after, it is discovered that a brand new *anti-everything not perfect* website has been launched.
Are you going to jump, or are you going to just hang around threatening to jump?
I guess Bush himself has nothing to do with the fact that people are growing tired of some of the liberal policies, excessive spending, and so on.
heh
From little one on my Mother would make me RESPECT the office of the President of the United States and told me so and her Mother before her who was a legal immigrant and came thru Ellis Island.
I cringe when I read some of the disrespectful tone some take against the President. Or the name calling. Do I agree with all he says and does nope but that does not give me the right to disrespect him.
BIG bump to your post! Especially the last paragraph
This illustrates the problem with the anti-Bushies (since I can't thing of a better phrase).
And therein lies one of the problems.
How about identifying them by their position... anti illegal alien.
Instead of insulting folks and accusing them of being anti-Bushies, why not face the issue and argue its merits or lack thereof?
Why would I have someone back when they are busy stabbing me in my back? As for replacing them? The aprty decides who they are going be replaced with! Just ask Kathleen Harris! Instead of supporting her and promoting her, they are too busy destroying her!
Sorry but the Repulicans are morphing into Democraps. Its time for 3rd party. Before you scoff 3rd party off, just remember that the Republican party was a 3rd party behind Whigs and Democraps!
I hope this thread drives off once and for all those who seek to destroy both this forum and the President.
What if you had been through all Pres. Bush has been through with his two terms - do you think you would be 100% perfect in pleasing each and every GOP voter?
There is no way to please all conservatives because so many expect us to turn back time to small government. It can't be done by any man as you can only move forward and temper the future direction.
And, it is time that we make them quit with the destructive tactics against their own GOP president. If not, we will not have any GOP presidents for the foreseeable future.
And, I prefer a GOP president to a liberal president any day.
Quote: "In 2006, the Republican Party is going to be executed by its Border Conservative base. At this point, it is unrecoverable. The President made a fatal error, and the Senate yesterday made it unrecoverable by refusing to agree to enforcement first. The pieces are now in motion, and they can't be stopped. BorderBots cannot swallow their pride and maintain their dignity if they vote GOP this year, and the GOP cannot win without them.
The Democrats will win in November because of what George Bush said Monday night, and what the Republican Senate did on Tuesday."
First off, this is exactly what I was talking about above. This is just the attitude the MSM and dems want us to have, namely, the "its too late, why even bother attitude." I don't except that for one second.
Secondly, its just what Pukin said, namely, that you throw out the steak just because there is a sprig of parsely on it. What about the House? They have a bill that is exactly what the "BorderBots" want. They are holding their ground. In the end, they will have to accept some of what the Senate Bill has, but the opposite will be true as well or there will be no bill. Will that bill be perfect, no. But it will be a better bill than that piece of crap coming from the Senate.
I suspect that you do expect perfection. Despite the protestations of your post, your problem is that a mega wall will not be built on the border starting today. I just don't think that was ever going to be the case. But, perhaps we can get it started.
You have your position, Bush has his own. He is not our servant, but our representative. I don't agree with him on immigration either, but we got Sam Alito, baby.
I also believe it is a foregone conclusion that Bush will get another pick before he leaves office, and I don't want a smaller Senate majority having to deal with Spectervision.
You can be right in every respect on immigration, and all I am saying is that we should be able to argue and debate the subject without personally attacking the man because he doesn't see it as we do.
I cant wait to go off on the next FReeper who types the word 'jorge' on this forum.
B.S. I have disagreed with President Bush's immigration positions repeatedly and vociferously.
Not all conservatives who have given up on the GOP are fatalistic or quitters. Some think losing the house or Senate would be a good lesson for them, others think things will only improve if they get worse first, and others never considered the current crop of GOPers to be conservatives. Many motivations, that have been brought to a head by the immigration issue.
I'm NOT a republican, nor do I want to be. I have not given up on Bush or the House. I plan to keep pushing them to the right, as best I can. I gave up on the Senate a long, long time ago. I can count on one hand the Senators I have any respect for or faith in.
But the fact remains that the horse left the barn for many on this forum.
But the gottadamerung crowd is already preparing for the big finale.
Great post!
these are important ideas.
Its been strange around here the last two weeks.
Quote "Instead of insulting folks and accusing them of being anti-Bushies, why not face the issue and argue its merits or lack thereof?"
Correct. It isn't that people hate Bush. It is the fact that Bush is making VERY bad decisions. He has lost his base...I mean you know it is bad when Ted Kennedy is praising President Bush.
Come on people. Are we so stupid as to not know what we even believe? Should we just follow Bush right off the cliff?
I think we have lost the true conservatives in this nation. There are few left.
Sad Sad Sad - and just read all the comments in this thread. It is obvious that our nation is doomed when we can't even remember what a true leader is.
I've been working hard to oppose the "I'll vote Hillary in and teach the RINOs a lesson" trolls.
However, I went toe-to-toe with many and actually got beat up pretty bad on this point.
For the incumbent RINOs----THERE IS NO PRIMARY!
So, the GOP Party apparatus is set up to encourage RINO-ness in close elections.
For better or for worse, the GOP is not providing a steam-valve to let these trolls vent any meaningful way in an election. (Not that the DNC is either, but the two party system is broken when it comes to prizing incumbency uber alles.)
THANK you, Pukin, for this great rant!
HONOR, RESPECT, SELF-CONTROL, DECENCY.
Please, people!! Can we bring them back to this forum?? Please??
Oh you could not be any more wrong about that. What we Bushbots disdain is disgusting attacks, not disagreement. I'll say that as often as I need to.
