So this points again that the first thing we need to do is to SECURE THE BORDERS.

I know that the President is very understanding of people who just want to better themselves and their families. Is bank robbery going to be OK now with the new amnesty plan?

It’s also hard because the U.S. soldiers are fighting wars in other countries,
and now, many are going to be along the border. When I cross, it scares me
and makes me think twice.”

Not to worry Alfonso.
You're not illegally entering Mexico's southern border.
If you were doing that, you'd be very afraid.
And/or killed.

Sounds like we will see a "spike" up in illegals trying to get in before the Guard is in place. To be expected, I suppose.

Good reason for W to come out tomorrow and say; " I was just kidding about the 6,000 Guardsmen. It's really gonna be 6,000 spec op snipers."

(Yeah, I know, I'm bad)

Estimates for the first 3 months of 2006 have approximetely 470,000 illegal aliens crossing through Arizona. We'll be looking at between 1.5 and 2 million coming through Arizona this summer as they try to beat the enforcement on the border. Residents of Arizona are going to take it in the shorts on this one and our lovely governor is going to help the illegals as much as she can.AWB

After listening to President Bush's speech if I lived in Mexico I'd pack my things and head north too.

If I were not so lazy, I'd dig up my posts to Marine Inspector from several weeks ago.
I mentioned a 'legal' Mexican immigrant told me they were having a fire sale by the coyotes in the Tiajuana sector.
As the Mexican govt/drug Cartels set the prices and distributes the operating areas, they most have known what was coming down.

Perhaps we shouldn't only put the NG on the border but also bring in the CeeBee's and have them build another Panama Canal only 3 times as wide and separate the U.S. from Mexico once and for all.

Miramontez says, “It’s bad in Mexico. It’s also hard because the U.S. soldiers are fighting wars in other countries, and now, many are going to be along the border. When I cross, it scares me and makes me think twice.

Good. I'm glad that foreigners are afraid of our National Guard. Let's hope that once the NG is on the border, more Mexicans will be scared. Scared enough to stay home and try to fix their own country.

Like a Freeper said the other night. Bush saying anything about border enforcement is like a bartender yelling "last call." Everybody left in Mexico will runn for the border.

“I just want to be happy, and I’ll try to work in the U.S., no matter what happens.”

We could make the border airtight in a couple of days.

China has 100-110 million of these and sells them for $3 a pop. Maybe WalMart could negotiate a bulk deal.

“It’ll now be much harder to cross through the desert," says Miramontez, ”but the Army (National Guard) on the border won’t stop me.”

And thousands of others will say and do the same thing. Stopping the invasion should be the number one goal.

"”but the Army (National Guard) on the border won’t stop me.” Like Miramontez, Eduardo Reyes, an immigrant..."

He's right, they won't stop him. The NG troops will be there only as spotters. Allegedly, if they see illegals trying to cross the border they will call the Border Patrol agents in to deal with them. In other words, they will be stationed on the border largely as window dressing to deceive the American people into believing that President Bush is taking serious action.

There is only one answer. The Minute men and women are that answer. It is time for a whole lot more people to got to the border and defend it.

Once upon a time the government had a scrap yard in the middle of a desert. Congress said," Someone may steal it at night."So they created a night watchman position and hired a person at $18,000.00 a year for the job.

Then Congress said, "How does the watchman do his job without instruction?" So they created a planning department and hired two people -- one person to write the instructions for $22,000.00 and one person to do time studies for an additional $22,000.00 per year.

Then congress said, "How will we know the night watchman is doing the tasks correctly?" So they created a quality control department and hired two people. One was to do the studies for $31,000.00 and one to write the reports for an additional $31,000,00 per year.

Then Congress said, "How are these people going to get paid?" So they created the following positions:
a time keeper for a $35,000.00 annual salary and a payroll officer for an additional $35,000.00
Then they created a n administrative section and hired three more people -- an Administrative Officer at $155,000.00 per year, an Assistant Administrative Officer at $125,000.00 and a Legal Secretary at $100,000.00 per year.

Then Congress said, "We have had this operating for one year with a budget cost of 574,000.00 and we are $18,000.00 over budget. We must cut back costs."

SO THEY LAID OFF THE NIGHT WATCHMAN !!
