No argument here, when Chavez's ex-wife comes out and says he's a fascist dictator in the making that despises the democratic process, it's fair to say the little bastard plans to leech off Petróleos de Venezuela until it's bone dry to bring about a savage system upon the lives of Venezuelans.

Do they have spare parts?

If they don't it will be like the F14s and they will eventually strip one plane to keep others flying. The only thing different is that there are more F16s and the process should be longer.

Who is going to fly these? Seems to me that you can't just take a pilot, strap him into an unfamiliar aircraft, and expect anything but disaster.

More hot air from Hugo. The more we ignore him, the more nuts he gets.

They were much more interested in partying than in learning flying. They do not take criticism well. They were pleasant enough but could not focus unless they were about to die. Never saw one in prayer although all were Muslim.

Yeah, imagine. LOL I've never seen any that I've known "break for prayer" at predetermined times either.

Yet, when it's "convenient," they all do.

Did they want to learn how to land. LOL Kamikaze city may be their best options for these things.

In fact, hey, if you're gonna do it w/ explosives tied to yourself, why not with a plane chock full of them.

Bigger bang for the buck.

Even if they were well-maintained, and Iran had some decent pilots, we never sell military items that are as capable as ours in overall abilities. Factor in upgrades to our systems and you can pretty much assume that one of our lesser pilots would have a 95% chance of trashing one of their best pilots in combat.

It'a about 1900 nautical miles from Natal to Monrovia (closer than Dakar). With a full load of internal fuel, and drop tanks full of fuel on the external mounting points, I believe it could be done.

Thats the F-22 proto-type not the final body type. The final design thats in production now looks much better in my opinion.

You mean sunk. They would be going by boat.

That'll work as well. :)

Sounds like a hard rain is gonna fall for South and Central America... again. How many times do must they toy with silly socialism only to end up in financial ruin again. You'd think one of these centuries they might figure that out.

"...actually delivering them to Iran is another matter altogether."

Exactly. Arms deals are facilitated through legally binding international contracts, and those contracts would strictly forbid Venezuela from re-selling the fighter craft to any other nation, especially a country like Iran who ranks #1 in the "Axis of Evil." I'm sure the US Navy will board and detain the ship and crew at some point in international waters.

Actually, intercept the ships and sail them off to equip the Iraqi air force.

" if the entire squadron got shot down during the commute to Iran"
I'm thinkin' they're in such poor condition, that there are no tankers to refuel from, etc., that the planes would probably be cargo on a ship.

Looks like Chavez and Ahmedinejad didn't like seeing oil drop a few bucks. I wouldn't put it past these guys to enlist the assistance of a Russian or Chinese shipping company to deliver them. They may be missing a couple or find a few put back together incorrectly on delivery, however.
