I agree. This is like the juvie FR board or something. Bush practically knocked me down tonight saying all the things that me and most conservatives have been wanting for years when it comes to the borders and illegals. I bet Limbaugh and Hannity are all over this speach tomorrow saying how "it's about time!". Tancredo liked it a LOT and really supported Bush on this speach, and given the fact that he co-founded the Minutemen that says it all. As much as Tancredo liked this speach, I think those here who oppose it and are ragging on Bush for this speech really need to grow up and think about it. Tancredo likes the speach! That says it all.
Let's see if I have this right.
Tancredo likes the speech.
Lou Dobbs likes the speech.
But the complainers on FR didn't like it. Nothing is ever good enough for them. We need to realize that a good portion of these people never supported the president to begin with. And a good portion of those aren't even conservatives or Republicans.
Tancredo cofounded the Minutemen? I thought Jim Gilchrist and Chris Simcox founded the Minutemen. But if Tancredo had a role, all I have to say is 'great'.
I think Bush's speech was definately a step in the right direction. But in my opinion, politicians should consider the shotgun option: use every resource simultaneously until an impact is made--then optimize. Sure, the shotgun approach wastes money but noone can say it is ineffective. We, as a nation, have used the approach many times on matters of national significance, perhaps with the most famous use being during the Manhattan Project. If we were to use the shotgun approach here we would build a fence, support the Minutemen, vastly increase the Border Patrol, give local and federal law enforcement the same authority as the Minutemen, place the National Guard on the Border in large numbers with the same authority as the Border Patrol, vastly increase the enforcement of immigration violations away from the border and against employers, etc., with each item intended to be redundant--not just suporting.
I feel for GW, he's caught between a rock and a hard place.......or an open border and an immigration issue to be more specific
Time to holster the pitchforks IMO

I wish you would learn how to spell "speach" (speech). Four times is not just a typo. Tancredo only liked part of it. And, Rush will see right through this "speach" for what it really is, a grand deception. Even Hannity was hedging tonite about it, and will eventually, although slower than Rush, see it for what it is, a sham. Plus, Tancredo did not co-found the Minutemen. Get your facts straight.
I've been pretty preoccupied with family tonight and only checking FR occasionally; I missed the speech but read it online, and I think I might agree with you; I've been no defender or fan of the Administration's stance, and I'll have to see if they'll walk what they talked tonight; but, I think I liked what they talked. It kind of told me that maybe just maybe Tony Snow gave the White House a dose of reality courtesy of FR.
