He alsp promised AMNESTY for 11 million criminals in our borders. This is an affront to all who have spent years or TENS OF YEARS following the rules to come here legally.
You left out AMNESTY for THIRTY MILLION ILLEGALS. How do you spin that one?!?
Thank you!!!
These isolationists tho, can't see beyond "amnesty", which this is not. That was their beloved Reagan's plan in the 80s.
Bush however, is a dreaded monster, don't ya know!!!
Agreeded. It makes sense to me. If these folks are here for 11 freakin years learn english and other requirementsand go through all that work and become citizens fine. At some points their original criminal act of crossing the border illegally is about as meaningful to me as someone at 30 year having a conviction for public intoxication when he was 18.
Day late and many dollars short. But I'll look forward to ANY progress. This situation just come to his attention? He needed May 1st?
You forgot to include citizenship for illegals.
The only thing that we have to put up with is an ORGANIZED Guest Worker Program. Where these workers will PAY TAXES. He basically handed us our entire cake, just it was one peice short...
This explains why some of you are acting like spoiled 5 year olds who didnt get enough birthday presents.
I am so sick of you RINO's with your repetitive ad nauseum "spoiled brats", "whiners", "acting like children" comments, as if you are the intelligent adults around here, when in actuality you are faux conservatives, appeasers, and naive political fools. There's a few words for you and your ilk to mull over on your side of the virtual fence.
Nice spin. Why not up the ante and say "1,236,000 more bones on the border"?
"12,000 More Federal Boots on the Border"
Correction:
Make that 6000. He said the NG will be replaced with BP by 2008.
WRONG!
First off, Bush didn't promise 12,000 new border patrol agents. He said there would be an increase of 6,000, starting a year from now.
"By the end of 2008, we will increase the number of Border Patrol officers by an additional 6,000."
Bush`s other rhetoric sounded good. Josh Bolton, Tony Snow and Karl Rove did a good job of preparing Bush for this speech. But I'm not convinced Bush will do anything. He has had five years-four months, 55 months since 9-11, and so far very little has been accomplished to secure the borders and enforce employer sanctions.
Bottomline. Bush still supports amnesty. That is unacceptable. Period.
bttt
I agree. This is like the juvie FR board or something. Bush practically knocked me down tonight saying all the things that me and most conservatives have been wanting for years when it comes to the borders and illegals. I bet Limbaugh and Hannity are all over this speach tomorrow saying how "it's about time!". Tancredo liked it a LOT and really supported Bush on this speach, and given the fact that he co-founded the Minutemen that says it all. As much as Tancredo liked this speach, I think those here who oppose it and are ragging on Bush for this speech really need to grow up and think about it. Tancredo likes the speach! That says it all.
