I searched but did not see a thread already open for tonights speech. I think this is the most important speech the President will probably make for the remainder of his term.
Mod Note:
This could turn into a whack-a-troll thread. All immigration trolls that would like to participate should post here. It'll be interesting to see if we mods can whack the trolls faster than they can sign up new accounts.
Jim
I agree.
Thank you and your son for his service!
Reminds of when that SLA terrorist Sara Jane Olson was apprehended a few years ago after being a fugitive for 30 years. The liberals were calling for amnesty because she married a doctor and had children and was a happy homemaker who acted in plays, etc.
"Another kick in the teeth for the law abiding tax payer."
There ya have it.
The true agenda here isn't even being spoken of, at least not openly. Hushed tones are the order of the day.
Amnesty, open borders, The Orginization of American States, Agenda 21 and One World Order isn't even on the radar of most people.

ah the good ol' days...
OPERATION WETBACK. Operation Wetback was a repatriation project of the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service to remove illegal Mexican immigrants ("wetbacks") from the Southwest...
He has repeatedly stated the "guest worker program" should be.
The only thing this Texan is diluted in is 100% American Whiskey and many, many guns! I just put a very conservative school board member in my district to solve our many problems. Go out and work at it...no doom and gloom allowed! Get off your but and do something!
I gotta agree with you. What pickles my butt is I pass criminal aliens (they're here illegally, so they're criminals) all the time in N. Virginia. There is a park next to a 7-11 in Shirlington, Va that is FILLED with criminal aliens. The cops don't do ANYTHING about it. Nothing, zip, zero, nada - but heaven forbid if you drive past that park going 35 in a 25 - they'll pull you over and write a ticket. Meanwhile, right next to them are at least 50 illegals.
look at it this way - we need a net inflow of immigrants into the US because of our declining birthrates and 30 years of abortions. that demographic fact is not in dispute. if we had an immigration bill that had all of the positive things many posters here want - border security, employer sanctions, denial of free health care - having to legalize some of the people already here as part of a compromise, wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.
Which line, the short one, or the one that the rest of the world uses to get here. Get real!
You would think that Carl Rove or Tony Snowe would have been intelligent enough to say, "Uhm, M-m-m-mister President? Our support is waning and the 27% that are left liking us are the Bushbots from FreeRepublic.com that would still love us no matter how liberal we become."
Bush's fault...
As you said we have had this problem for years, it won't be solved over night and will take the help of everyone, state, Fed and local law enforcement so get positive or STFU.
If "rounding up" illegals is unrealistic... How is this "worker visa" program going to be inforced? Honor system?
Didn't hear a damn thing tonight that I haven't heard before. The only positive I can give this speech is that it's marginally better that the Democrat immigration policy of passing out voter registration cards written in Spanish, and directing illegals to "no ID to vote" States and counties.
You are not cool.
I am not sure about jail. How about shut down the business for a period of time, and double the fines.
No just realistic. If you actually knew me you could never call me a liberal.
Hahaha!
Deport the employers.
Thats the most sensible thing Ive seen said tonight
>>The Republicans will lose the Next Election there is No doubt about it now.<<
I hope not, but I did think to myself as he said "jobs Americans aren't doing" ..."This man just finished destroying the GOP majority." November is not going to be pretty, I fear.
