Faced with the prospect of spending up to a decade in prison for defrauding clients out of more than $3.6 million, a former Butler County bankruptcy lawyer apparently killed himself instead.
Daniel J. Gates, 44, formerly of Zelienople, was found dead Friday near Ocala, Fla., where he'd been living since his indictment in July 2003.

Noticed that he didn't want to pay for a lawyer also. Had a public defender.
Pretty much a standard POS.
He'd have never made it in prison. At least 100 lbs overweight and as soft as the sta puff marshmallow man. And, it appears, a coward to the end.

I am so glad this lawyer is dead. I wish all of the lawyers in the United States would commit suicide or die. I would rather stand behind my rifle than stand next to a lawyer in court. All lawyers suck and should be killed.

YOU WON'T BELIEVE THIS!!!!!! I have Dan and Linda Gates last three arabians here at my boarding facility. They were chronically late with their board and utter snobs the entire time Dan was alive.
He had story after story why he couldn't pay. Then he died. I googled his death wanting to know what happened. The fat slob, I thought he dropped dead because of his heart. Boy, did I get a rude awakening.
Needless to say, his poor wife Linda, isn't so poor. She is now screwing me out of board. I've told her to leave and she won't even come out to make sure her horses have feed. She now owes me over 3000 and I have no address for her. So you see............. she is as bad as he was. She has moved up north somewhere, can't be reached by email or cell phone. I've reported her to animal control and just today I'm sending a registered letter to her last known address. So the humane society gets her horses.
Does anyone know HOW ON EARTH they ever were so STUPID to pay 250,000 for that bay mare?
