BUSH: WE CAN'T BOOT 11M ILLEGALS
NY Post ^ | 5/15/06

Posted on 05/15/2006 5:48:16 AM PDT by areafiftyone

May 15, 2006 -- WASHINGTON - In his live, nationally televised address tonight, President Bush will tell Americans that it's impossible to deport the estimated 11 million illegal aliens living here.

"We must reject amnesty, but recognize that it is not realistic to round up millions of people and send them home," said White House spokeswoman Maria Tamburri in a preview of Bush's speech.

She said Bush plans to spell out his vision for sealing the border, enforcing the law, and "creating a rational system for workers to come into our country and to do jobs Americans won't do." Bush plans to visit the U.S.-Mexican border this week, and will dispatch his Cabinet to help sell the immigration plan.

The Senate plans to return to the contentious issue this week now that Republicans and Democrats have a deal to plow through controversial amendments. But the House and Senate are far apart on whether to put illegals on a path to citizenship.

Tamburri said Bush would call for "better equipment, increased funding, and advanced technology" to secure the border.

She didn't confirm press reports that Bush wants to expand deployments of National Guard Troops to step up border enforcement. Some Guard troops are already deployed in Arizona and New Mexico, but Bush is considering a big increase.

White House National Security Adviser Stephen Hadley said that enforcement was the Border Patrol's job - but then asked whether they needed help from the Guard on an "interim basis."

"This is not about militarizing the border," he said. The president is looking to do everything he can to secure the border. It's what the American people want."

[ (((((SIGH!!!))) No surprises here. It's all about the Hispanic vote and nothing more. It's all the Republicans and Democrats care about. ]

And the illegal and legal aliens WILL BE democrats..
Probably already are in some/many places.. The White RINO House surely knows that.. They are not Stupid,, are they?..

This speach could confirm what many already suspect..
Bush is John Mclaim with a better looking wife..

If Pres. Bush talks about guest worker programs and amnesty tonight, I wonder if his job approval rating will go into negative numbers.

Hi J

Great work on the documents.

About the other "work". I think it's a price thing. You have one price, someone who is illegal has another.

The issue here is whether the law, and the population balance of the USA should be subverted because one group of illegal immigrant people will work for less than another.

>Oh, well I guess if they look Mexican and can't speak English the employers will have to assume they aren't legal then, won't they? <

If they guess wrong they have a disrimination suit against them. You can have a Green card without speaking English.

Give me a break.Mindless scribbling is much easier than thinking isn't it?

My point is that if you read the thread, you would see solutions to the problem. If you wanted to that is. That is my point. If you ask me again, I'll assume you didn't read this either, and not bother to answer you.

"do jobs Americans won't do"

"I'm sick of hearing that too. Who did those jobs before ILLEGALS?!"

"Every time someone says that I get angry."

This one little inflammatory phrase will overshadow almost anything else Bush has to say with a whole lot of people. It's an emotional sticking point.

I hope someone is listening.

"Since they are not doing this the republicans in the white house and senate all need to be smacked on both sides of the face and kicked in the but."

See, this is what people are unready or unwilling to face. The two partys have nothing to loose as far as their power goes. They don't give to squirts of rats pi$$ which of their crony's is running the country. Maybe some of you have forgotten the big suck up between H.W. Bush and Clinton. Didn't anyone think it strange?
When is the American public going to wake up to the fact that there isn't any difference between the two partys? We will never be able to save this nation unless we the people are willing to call all of them out. I mean, every last one of the stinking politicians who have ruined this nation. Unless we the people ABOLISH the corrupt power base that is destroying this nation we will see the demise of the sovereignty of the USA in 8 years.

We need to all join hands (and VOTES) and do a major write in on our ballots and recall those who have spit on their oaths to uphold the rule of law.

Oh god, he's going to use that phrase "jobs Americans won't do" again.

There should be a pool on how many times it gets used. I want to put my money on 5.

Eighteen months ago, 500,000 illegal aliens and their enablers weren't marching down the streets of Los Angeles waving the flags of their nationality.

That's true. Of course, 18 months ago the same people who organized these demonstrations were busy with the anti-war demonstrations. I am talking about ANSWR, the Committee for Social Justice, certain labor unions, and the radical left wing of the DNC.

Now, why would these folks suddenly become all interested in immigration? My theory is that it is a two-fer: they have scared Hispanics with threats that the deportations are going to be massive and draconian, and at the same time have USED the Hispanics to scare Republicans and get the party fighting amongst themselves.

So far, it's working like a charm.

I'd love to hear your take on this little bit of factual information.

What factual information? All I see is a lame assertion that somehow the President's father is involved with this and that our nation is dead. Trite.

Sure I can. It's called the regular INS process,...

So you can't really deport 11 million in a time frame which would be viewed by most people as "kicking them all out" and impacting on the problem. Deporting 1.5 million per year did not stem the influx. The total number in the country grew. The incentive to try remained because the success rate was still high. So, at the end of 10 years you may have deported 11 million, but you won't have deported "The 11 Million". So at the end of the day, you haven't solved the problem and you haven't addressed the legitamacy of the deport 11 million assertion. A nice dodge, but extremely transparent.

The only thing we can hope for now is that the next Republican President

Assuming there ever is a next Republican President.

This is old, but the reasoning under it is still valid:

As I've been saying for a few years, I'm worried about VICE President Clinton.
Think of it:

• She keeps her promise not to run for president in '04
• Two years and one day into her term the first slotter gets arkincided
• Under Article XXII, she can still run for two full terms as the incumbent
• The Hillary!™ Decade begins
• Hillary uses the Patriot Act to it's fullest extent, and beyond
• At the end of the Hillary!™ Decade there is a National Emergency "temporarily" delaying the elections
• Under the pressure of the National Emergency, the 2nd and 22nd amendments are repealed
• By the time the National Emergency is over all the 'improved' source code for the touch screen electronic balloting will be in place......

Just as an aside, with the Clinton's love of all things Military - War Hero Kerry is VERY expendable, isn't he?

It's frustrating alright. But, we soldier on. I have a sinking feeling we will get an amnesty (called something else of course) but at least I will be able to say that I spoke out. In 10 years, I think alot of those who say it's no big deal, it's the only thing we can do, blah blah blah will wonder what on EARTH they were thinking. But then it really will be too late. We will have a permanent democrat (or worse) majority voting.

If you want $25 an hr. lawn care, let me know how many people you will hire at that price. How about the $4.00 cup of coffee in the train terminal? How many cups of that are you buying?

In the olden days, we teens used to mow our neighbors' lawns (if the Dads didn't do it themselves), flip the burgers at Happy Hound, fill-up the gas at Union 76, and perform other jobs that "Americans won't do".

Not only did we perform the same services at comparable prices, but we didn't load the system with under-the-water-line social costs that threaten to bankrupt certain border states.

I will clean a toilet bowl from 15 dollars an hour and benefits not for 8 dollars an hour and no benefits.

So that kind of makes "Jobs Americans won't do" not "completely true."

This issue was not a big deal a mere 18 months ago in the election. All of a sudden it's the ONLY issue that matters.

To some of us, illegal aliens have been a top concern since their votes defeated B1 Bob in 1996. What developed as a California problem has spread it's stench across the land. Now I see the President and Senate attempting to destroy our culture and values caving in to the invading mob.

I suggest you do a little research in to AGenda 21 and H.W. Bush who signed on to it.

Then do the same on the last meeting between the big 3 of North America.

If you are so damn unaware it isn't any wonder that you don't grasp the gravity of this situation.
