Troops on the border is just symbolic and stupid. An employer crackdown is what could repatriate a lot of illegals quickly and cheaply.

Start with roofers, Subcontractors (drywall, framers,etc.), landscapers and yes, unions.

I am all in favor of this........BUT: can we also crackdown on gov welfare agencies that give illegals benefits, How about public school administrators who can't wait to bring in illegals to bolster their roles. How about we arrest bankers who facilitate the illegals sending US $ back to prop up the Mexican economy.

Instead of just employers........how about a "crackdown" on all of the governmental agencies who pander to the illegals.
Maybe locking up a few of the politicans might do more to stem the tide than just employers.

Yes. Enforcement of these laws has been winked at in the past and employers know this. In this sense they have been virtually encouraged to hire illegals. A warning that the honeymoon is over and that strict adherence to the law will be enforced in the future will be enough to convince many employers that it is their best interest to replace their illegals in an oderly way.
