DFL endorses Wetterling in 6th District (MN)

After seven ballots, Patty Wetterling won the Democratic endorsement Saturday to oppose state Sen. Michele Bachmann in Minnesota's 6th Congressional District.

Wetterling, who built a national reputation as an advocate for laws protecting children and helping authorities keep track of sex offenders, defeated Elwyn Tinklenberg, a former Blaine mayor and state transportation commissioner. Each candidate had promised not to run in a September nominating primary if he or she did not win the endorsement.

In addition to Bachmann, Wetterling will face Independence Party candidate John Binkowski of St. Mary's Point.

During about four hours of balloting, Tinklenberg never substantially cut into a big lead that Wetterling amassed on the first ballot. Finally, Tinklenberg conceded the endorsement to Wetterling and urged delegates to make the endorsement unanimous.

"We could make it more excruciating, but not better," Tinklenberg said later of his decision to concede.

Wetterling pledged to work for education, health care and a sound Social Security system if she is elected to Congress.

Given her own terrible personal loss I am surprised any mother could choose the political party that works so hard to appoint liberal bench-legislating judges, and to put "rehabilitated" child molesters back out in the communities and on the voter roles.

MN is pretty well known for all our sexual predator "treatment centers". as if we don't have enough freaks here, we import them in from other places.

This is going to be a clear choice election. I know Rep. Bachman has been getting some heat from those that consider her a firebrand, but then, IMO, that's precisely what's needed to advance - a clear difference. When Republicans decide to come out of the RAT closet, we might begin to make some real changes in this state...and nation.

Axiom: When you are a liberal, it's Bush's fault, even though the Wetterling child was kidnapped roughly in the days when the current Bush was taste testing the difference Bombay Sapphire and Beefeater Gin.

Patty Wetterling has exactly one thing on her resume. She is the mother of a kidnap victim.

She is the media-hyped-gonzo-mother-of-all-victims. Therefore, she resonates at the cellular level with all living RAT's. Dead RAT's don't care, but they will still vote for her because the zombie masters have commanded them to do so.

Pro-Choice and "child advocate" seems pretty oxymoranic ,yet Patty claims both titles.

I expect the rich and famous elites will visit MN stumping for her.

Sorry, to be picky...
