The military straightened me out.
I love the military. The finest people in America are drawn to serve their country. I love them all.

Madison is just as hippie today has it was in the 60's.
To: Bahbah
I was perusing the news and happened upon this headline:
"Poles eye Norwegian gas"
I chose not to read the article.

I'm in awe of those who are and have served. People like yourself.
My office is across the street from the main gate at MCAS Miramar. That's where we hold our support the troops rallies. Incredible people...and thank you for your service.

Guess not. Did they call themselves progressives in the 60's?
To: aligncare
Madison was notorious as "protester central", in the hippie crowd I hung with. There was alot going on. I went to a couple of protests but I was too pro-military to get involved in the awful things some were into. What disturbed me about Viet Nam was that it didn't appear to me that the politicians were letting the military fight to win, and the thought of useless deaths of our guys just infuriated me.

...It has been said that the United States Military lost not one battle to the North Vietnamese regulars. We were however, defeated by the protesters in the streets, MSM, college professors, Dan Rather, John Kerry, Jane Fonda and Hollywood.

I'm good. Did you find your social security card?
To: ChicagoConservative27
Mine was at Fort Benning and I started Kindergarten in 69-70, so I was not a protester. I don't even really remember much about Vietnam.

No but I worked this morning, then put in an app, where my friend works and she took me to lunch, then I came home and took a nap. I am off until Sunday, so the search continues.
