You guys both know that I am more on Spiff's side of the argument than on Howlins' but I would just like to point out to you Spiff, that it is up to you how much to be intimidated by a fellow freeper. Do I act like I'm intimidated? I have the facts to back me up and rarely am I given to being intimidated.
There are many who are intimidated though. They are afraid of being banned like so many have been for crossing swords with some of the protected posters here.
I receive FReepmails from some of those people who support me and encourage me but are afraid to even post their own responses in these threads. It is unfortunate.

"
Lets hope.. However I'm sceptical.." C'mon now let's not look a gift horse, you know the rest. Seriously I see this as a win for those of us who have been screaming about this issue for years. We've been called everything but American for our vigilant stance on immigration. Let's take this as a sign that finally the administration is listening to its' citizens instead of Vicente's. I'd love to see the look on their La Raza faces when they see the result of their Day Without Illegals March.

That's funny...they had no problem when Katrina hit...
When Hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf Coast last year, more than 40,000 Guardsmen and women rushed to the impact zone -- it was the largest stateside deployment in National Guard history.
Source
Also, according to that link, the Army National Guard currently has about 330,000 soldiers. According to another article:
Last year, at the peak of deployments of reservists -- when citizen-soldiers were carrying perhaps 50 percent of the combat load -- the Army Guard alone had about 40,000 soldiers in Iraq. Today, its presence is down to roughly 20,000, said Lt. Gen. Clyde Vaughn, director of the Army National Guard, and in 2006, "we're going to level out somewhere slightly less than that."
You do the math.

As you should know, rounding up ALL 20 million illegals is going to much harder, bordering (pun intended) on the impossible That is why it is important for the first step to be sealing the border. I agree that deporting them all is impossible. Cutting off the great majority of new ones is not. Would you agree?

I just love you Bush apologists
and you're "talking points" are so neat even if so ill informed.
" Slavery is not permitted in the US. Captured illegals cannot be forced to build a fence as part of any sentencing -- regardless of the zero probability of this sort of thing surviving a "cruel and unusual punishment" challenge"
No law says prisoners, even illegal alien prisoners can't build the fence.(although I would prefer to DEPORT ALL ILLEGAL ALIEN INCARCERATED...why should we pay $50K a year to incarcerate other countries' criminals)
" The US prison population of the US is about 3 million people. And they are full. Many are full with illegals who committed other crimes. Given that they are full, there is nowhere to put illegals who are awaiting a deportation hearing. Don't suggest tent installations. Even if they were funded, there is no way whatsoever that would survive a concentration camp array of verbage. It's Not Going To Happen."
Again, deport all incarcerated illegal aliens(after we build a wall and secure the borders)
"From day one, improved border security has been step #1 of Bush's plan. All attention was focused on later parts of that plan, but border security was always the first item. Bush can move rightward on this matter without changing anything significant in his plan by simply inserting a time line. Seal the border. Then Wait 6 Years. There will be many fewer left at that point. Only then look into dealing with whoever is left after the attempts to visit family at home result essentially in self deportation (because they can't get back in). "
Well it's been over FIVE FRIGGIN YEARS NOW AND 12 MILLION ILLEGALS LATER!
"Because US demographics define a situation where the reality but rather "there are not enough working age Americans to do all the work a 12 trillion dollar economy has", only after 6 years of sealed border do we address punishing those still present and shipping them to the border for recycling"
Well according to Bush,"is NOT one of "work that Americans refuse to do", you are WRONG.
He claims the illegals are doing jobs Americans won't
I just don't know how we managed for five hundred friggin' years without illegals. ROFLMAO
I suggest you come up with some better "talking points"
from the Gelding Old Party 'cause those you've posted have about as much credibility as a screen door on a submarine!!

I'm just wondering if it's to get the Minutemen off the border so the illegals can be escorted into the US by US troops instead of coyotes. Hate to be so skeptical, but that's exactly what I'm suspicious of. We all know he is not too fond of citizen's groups or militlias doing the job, so if he gets the military to do it, then HE (and government policy) can control the whole situation. Probably something along the lines of: no violence or intimidation (look threatening, but take no action), if they make it across just let them go, render aid/food/water/asylum to immigrants who need it and a host of other UN-inspired rights and comforts aimed at benefiting the illegals.
I totally believe this is his(Roves) plan.
To: Junior_G
Wow...if your stat is true, then clearly the argument that we can't deport 11 million people is bunk.
Nailed it.

You'll notice the drop occurred in 2000, Spiff. Gee, that was before DubyaPresident Bush took office, wasn't it? I don't suppose something significant might have happened then regarding immigration, do you? The President should be referred to as President Bush. Not "Dubya".
Yes, I noticed that employer investigation efforts dropped before President Bush took office. The other stats do not reflect that same drop. In fact, Total Aliens Expelled as well as Deportable Aliens Located actually went UP in 2000, not down as you suggest.
Further, it doesn't matter. The raw numbers are the raw numbers. The bottom line is that employer investigation efforts during the Bush administration are profoundly less than the previous administration. As in, a 90 to 99 percent reduction depending upon the statistic you're looking at. So, let's realize that and deal with it. President Bush has 2.5 years to reverse those numbers. His hopefully conservative Republican successor has 4 to 8 years to completely turn those numbers around. That is the point here.

Tell us, "Coop"... what is your idea? Or do you just stand on the sidelines of reality and cry a lot? Funny! Thanks for the laugh. A member of the hysterical brigade accuses me of crying? :-D
My idea is too give the shrill, myopic, dead-horse-beating, border bunnies a snack and a nap. Milk and cookies?

I've asked him not to post to me because it serves no purpose. To you, no. To others, yes. If you make a dubious statement that is not supported by the facts, such as your claim that Bush has been trying to do something about border security for two years, expect someone to retort that. Likewise if you engage in ad hominem attacks on people holding a certain position - which you are well-known for doing.
Oh, and I thought you were always a stickler for pinging someone when you are discussing them.

The White RINO House leaves me underwhelmed..
I suspect its a gambit.. The White RINO(Bush) has bought the democrats scam.. IMPORTING multi millions of illegal and legal democrats WILL somehow HELP the republican party..
America needs one more democrat like it needs a horizonal escalator on the border..
Which we have.. except by truckload..

This is just another magic show. The President cannot deploy National Guard troops except at the request of the Governor. Secondly, National Guard troops can only make arrests confined to the state they serve. Thirdly, there aren't nearly enough NG troops in the pool who can be deployed for this kind of duty.
So, what it boils down to is this:
1. The presence of NG troops will depend on political climate of each individual state.
2. There will not be consistent coverage.
3. There isn't the manpower to make a difference.

It just seems so obvious Victorygal. Thats quite a turn around as I sure as heck don't recall W ever saying he advocated putting troops on the border. I figure both W and McCain asked themselves " now, what could we do to shut these people up ( us and quite a few dems )while we work out an amnesty program. "
maybe they think we'll all figure ok, fine - after this group of 13 million there wont be any more ever again because of the troops.
