Not a problem. JC Penney's, Target, and other stores are trying to dress 12 year olds like 22 year old sluts.
So if the ol' people are dressing young and the young'uns are dressing "mature" then they'll meet in the middle.
She looked pretty good at 18, in fact a real beauty. Haven't seen her in maybe 15 years but I bet she looks a little different.
Except that's not what kids will be wearing
I ain't touching this one. Uh-uh. No way. This has all the makings of a tattoo thread - throw in women't vanity and this is a no-win thread.
I'll just watch the implosion, thank you!
Women in denim is the approved (by females, that is), dress code of Utah. Most look ridiculous, fat, sloppy and unattractive, but they seem to be oblivious. Only a very few with good bods might look warmish in tight jeans, but they may also be damaging their circulation by being tightly squeezed into a shape they don't normally have. The worst ever invention for women are denim jeans, but they are great for men and boys. Is that sexist?
Genital warts are to make Mom and Dad mad? WTF?
In fairness, some older women may like to wear jeans because they're comfortable, rather than youthful.
Some older women actually look good in jeans, provided they have the right build and the right personality. Somebody sensual would probably wear them well.
However, the rest of us are better off putting the jeans away after a certain age. A young'un can dress sloppy & casual and look "bohemian." Someone older looks like a "bag lady."
I have a jean skirt I only wear for laundry & household chores. In public, it's a skirt with a nice top. (Also nice shoes -- no Nikes!)
I disagree with some of this. You don't have to dress like a tramp, but you don't have to conform to any age dress codes.
Pierced navels and bare midrifs with stretch marks are so erotic.
If older people want to dress 'younger' so be it. Maybe not everyone in their 40s wants to wear sana-a-belt slacks and easy spirit shoes.
You can be conservative politically w/out having to dress conservatibly.
Wife (or girlfriend) to Husband (or boyfriend):
Do these pants make me look fat?
Wrong answer: It isnt the pants that make you look fat.
There is no honest right answer.
This echoes a thought I had yesterday...I was out walking and one of those girls with low rise jeans passed me, and she had the familiar tatoo on the base of her spine.
It occured to me that the girl was going to have that tatoo when she was 60 years old. I was wondering if she was going to have regrets then.
But then again it occured to me that since she was too ridiculous to have regrets about the tatoo now, she was unlikely to have regrets later.
Regards, Ivan
I like my 50 something body most of which is headed south and 50ish cloths. I'm Used to myself this way! If some chick looks good in her daughters cloths good for her! I don't.
Even in the Misses' dept, where most 30-something women should be doing their clothes shopping, sell the lower waist jeans. Quite frankly, as long as they are just below the waist rather than grazing the crotch, they are actually more flattering than the regular waisted jeans.
Having said that, I have a lot of links on my links page to places where one can buy longer undershirts to nicely and attractively cover up the backside which longs to be exposed in the lower waist jeans.
I think the person who wrote this article would prefer if all post-college age women dressed more like dowagers than women who still have a decent figure.
Staying out of the sun will help you look younger, not baring your midriff.
There's a group of women in San Diego called the "Pink Thong" club. They are all over 50. They just got a big write up in the newspaper. They think it's cute. I saw their pictures. It's not.
