Oh...I know what's going to happen in the speech. The camera will open with a shot of Bush and Vincente Fox making out in the Oval Office. Bush will announce that he is leaving Laura and running off with Vincente to San Francisco to get married. Then he is going to send engraved invitations to every Mexican to come across the border and just take over what's left of America.
Is that prediction pessimistic and bitter enough for this thread?

I guess people can now stop with the "illegal-immigration-is-only-an-issue-for-the-FR-whackos-and-no-one-else-cares" rhetoric.
It's a nationwide presidential address on the subject.

You can catch it here on the "Live Thread" that will probably start at noon on Sunday. Live threads are like the Pre-Pre-Pre-Pre game show to the Super Bowl. Plus you get all the in depth anal-a-sis that goes with the speech. LOL!

... the resident panty-twisters have become our own version of DU. With the same goals as DU, thorough Republican defeat. There are a few stupid ones who simply follow like sheep, but there are also the herders, and many of their names appear on this thread. These herders imitate the call of those preposterous elements which have cost us elections before, as their goal is our defeat. It amazes me that the stupid ones do not see how they're being used.

I would imagine it would be about the NSA program. It may well turn out to be mostly on that, but the post said "to speak about immigration."

They will agree with him no matter the issue, but that is okay, they are entitled to that opinion. That's simply not true, but it's what so many of you lock onto. It's sure as heck easier than actually looking at facts. Concerning Harriet Miers, I wasn't enthused nor was I bothered. I trusted Dubya's judgment, and I make no apologies for it. But it was easy to see it was not going to go over well with the base.
I also waded into every Dubai Ports thread I could find. For a while it was me and maybe one or two more. But as the facts came out, it soon was apparent how little the knee-jerk critics knew about the situation. The Dubai Ports deal was no big deal at all. But many around here let Chuckie Schumer and Harry Reid lead them around by the nose.
So if you REALLY are concerned about America, please move away from your little names and accusations and address facts. And perhaps include in those facts which party will better handle your pet issue(s).

"My question to you is simple: If the "government" can't track all the illegal aliens (whether they are visa violators or invasion forces) currently in our country, how will it track a new "guest worker" program?" Your post illustrates why this was not done yesterday. The INS was a complete antiquated disaster, and they have prioritized tasks ahead of this, namely terrorists, biometrics on visas, and criminals (gangs and drugs). The peaceful intruders were last priority.

---I was reminded last night that the same people that defend this President over the immigration issue were the same ones willing to fight to the death to keep Harriet Miers.---
I was one of those. Now I'm viscously attacked for wanting a secure border. We have a certain group of lunatics that think they can help the President by getting anyone opposed to his program here on FR to shut up.

You seriously fear that GWB is "brain dead?" Wow. You appear to have the same disdain for the President as Michael Moore and the lib moonbats.

Libs on another board I monitor are claiming it's because ROVE will be indicted today....
Talk about abstract fantasy's?

It is too late for W to say anything but " I am taking full responsibility for not stopping this invasion at the border and as of right now am ordering that any immigrant here illegally to return home now and to apply for work legally to reenter this country.

Do you believe he'll send them back?
Julie Myers was on FoxNews yesterday touting the same line Asa Hutchinson proudly touted when he was in charge: "We're sending back 300 a month."
[I did a brief calcuation on another thread. At that rate it would take 20,000 months or 1666.7 years to send back all the illegals already here --- assuming some of them didn't sneak back across and get sent home more than one time.]

That's why they don't bother to put a fence around the Whitehouse.

guess people can now stop with the "illegal-immigration-is-only-an-issue-for-the-FR-whackos-and-no-one-else-cares" rhetoric. I wish it were so but you will still hear the usual suspects scream, "It is just you 1% who care about this issue and we don't need your vote anyway".
Even though anyone out working on a campaign this year can tell you it is one of the first things people want to talk about.
