I have a novel idea. How about the Republicans in Washington not give their base a reason to do such things.
Just a thought.

I have to admit, I am thinking of doing this. The one thing many politicians count on, is that they can do whatever they please, and the base will in the end vote for them because the alternative is worse. I can't go along with this. I will only vote Republican if the border situation is solved.

Agreed. They blow illegal immigration and come November they are toast. And it will be their fault, NOT MINE.

No Republican is going to make you 100% happy.
But Howard Dean, Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, they have the power to make you 100% UNhappy.
Your decision.

The Republicans in Washington could always join with the majority of the party. That's how representative government is meant to work. Isn't it?

I have a novel idea. How about the Republicans in Washington not give their base a reason to do such things. Another unique idea.
Instead of appealing to voters jutifiably upset to reward a party for arrogantly dismissing them time and again, people could, I don't know, write the Republicans and give them a heads up scare tactics won't work? That governing responsibly (and conservatively) is the way to win the vote in November.
Just a suggestion as well.

Not ALL Republicans ARE....
I see Tancredo's name posted all of the time...and yet it would not help him at all for the House to go to a Majority Dems...
There are many other Republicans that are fighting very hard...and you want to reward them by letting the Dems take over???
Why should THEY fight then??

The time for the base to win is during the primaries, not the general election. If we want a change, we have to concentrate on picking off specific RINO's in the primaries after calling the race and watching them whine and go under our wheels. Then we have to fight like heck to get the conservatives that won the primaries elected. Do this for two election cycles and the Republican base would be considered on par with the AARP and Illegal immigrants.

Agreed. None of this would be happening if the GOP started governing the way people expected them to when we pulled the levers for them.
The wound is self-inflicted and yet, instead of tending to it, the geniuses in the party leadership keep picking at it...

Isn't it interesting that its apparently okay for Specter (who Bush went out of his way to rescue from certain removal), and McCain and Graham, and the Administration to throw all kinds of Temper Tantrums...and bricks... at the conservative base of the party... but Heavan forbid we finally pick up our ball and go home.

I have a novel idea. How about the Republicans in Washington not give their base a reason to do such things. Just a thought. You are correct. President Hillary will be the fault of those Republicans who abandoned Republican principles, not those of us who abide by those principles and refuse to vote for another open-borders Republican.
