Thinking of Throwing a Tantrum in November?
Shameless Vanity | 5-11-06 | Burr5

Posted on 05/11/2006 8:25:42 PM PDT by Burr5

There has been a rising tide of opinion expressed these last few days on Talk Radio regarding the impulse to vote against Republicans in the upcoming congressional election in order to punish them for their whorish pandering to illegal aliens, their fiscal irresponsibility, and their general disregard of the demands of the conservative base. I have heard echoes of this on Rush Limbaugh, Mike Gallagher, Laura Ingraham, Glenn Beck and Bill O'Rielly.

We should be worried about this attitude. Especially those of us who remember 1992. In George H.W. Bush's second presidential attempt, a conservative rebellion (over tax policy) and the insurgent candidacy of a purported "economic conservative" (Ross Perot), resulted in the election of the most venal, irresponsible, demogogic criminal in the history of American politics. 43% of the electorate was enough to give us eight years of Clinton.

So would sitting this one out, or voting for a Libertarian get us closer to where we want to be? Everyone realizes that a conservative temper tantrum at the polls will only serve to grant power to the Democrats. Would this "teach the Republicans a lesson"?

Perhaps. But where would we be then? We are at war. The Democrats believe the war is Bush's fault. 9-11 was an aberation. It will not happen again even if we don't listen in on Al-Qaeda's phone conversations. We will be safe if we pull out of Iraq. There will NEVER be a justification for bombing Iran's nuclear facilities. There will be no more war for oil, and yet the Caribou in ANWR will still be safe from the predations of Exxon-Mobil.

Domestically, we can expect the likes of Charles Rangle and Ron "Red" Dellums to hold the reins of power in the House of Representatives. The Bush economy will not be destroyed; things will simply become more "fair" for women and minorities.

And, of course, the great gains we are making in the corrupt, tyrannical judiciary will come to a screeching halt. If you're alright with the "right" of irresponsible young women to hire doctors to shove a metal implement into the skull of their partially born babies, and to have them crack open the skulll, vacuum out the brain matter as the tiny arms silently flap around, and then throw the corpse into the trash, then the make-up of congress may not be of much importance to you when the next confirmation hearing comes around. Chairman Leahy- Say no more.

Politics is a TEAM SPORT, ladies and gentlemen, and one does not express one's dissatisfaction with the team's effort by aiding the opposing team.

Do not let the party of treason, greed, corruption, infanticide, demogougerey, hypocricy and judicial tyranny gain power.

It could take another forty years to get it back.

Then I guess they have to consider the unthinkable - do the right thing.
- - -

One begins to wonder if more than a few in DC are interested in doing the right thing. Shoot, probably 85% or more no longer have any clue what the right thing is. And all the DIMRATS like to champion the idiocy that there is NO right thing except their own corrupt traitorous self-serving expediencies-of-the-moment.

God have mercy on our beleagured land.

I like most of Bush's policies. I don't like his stance on immigration, and a few other topics...What I DESPISE about him is his reticence over the years to fight back against all of the scurrilous and outrageous charges from the left. That, IMHO, has contributed more to his decline in poll numbers, and subsequent lack of credibility, more than anything else...

After a while, when the Dems laid out these outrageous charges, and the Bush/Cheney/Frist/Hastert didn't fight back of set the record straight, many Americans started to believe these lies as facts.

For that reason, and that alone, I am deeply disappointed, and livid at the President. I've been saying for years that this would happen.

Having said that, I'm a pragmatist... The GOP leadership will give me 80% of what I want, the Dems 20%.

Easy choice, in my opinion.

So would sitting this one out, or voting for a Libertarian get us closer to where we want to be?

What Libertarian? Any Libertarian? Is this the choice?

Nancy Palosi, Speaker of the House.
Now that would be some real nasty punishment.
- - -

Can you imagine Pelousy in the house and Shrillery in the White House?

Talk about CRITICAL MASS! Sheesh. We'd have a nuclear explosion of BW*TCHY EVIL unparalled since . . . Noah's era.

We really do NOT want to allow that to happen. Choices are difficult and troublesom but that's no excuse to become as idiotic as the traitorous DIMRATS.

Oh, and I've never been a single issue voter. I look at policies holistically- Bush overall has been solid, my one gripe notwithstanding... If he was able to run for a third term, he'd have my vote enthusiastically (given the current crop of "front-runners").

But Howard Dean, Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, they have the power to make you 100% UNhappy.

Correction . . .

THEY have the power and evil to make all citizens thoroughly miserable, struggling and running for our lives.

The choices may be awful . . . but abdicating, throwing in the towel, reacting in an idiotic angry pique will only play into the traitor's hands MUCH MORE that otherwise.

LOL!

Why people on this forum think putting that freak show in power would somehow benefit the conservative cause is beyond me!

I can clearly see your point. However, there is no other tool left to conservative voters. The vote is all that really counts, especially when these politicians have clearly demonstrated their deafness to all appeals, written or verbal, to support the principles that won them office.

In other words, what do you suggest we do? Shall we continue to support and reelect the dishonest, weak-kneed crop that got us here? ...or do we take some losses, cut out the cancer, and begin rehabilitation for better long-term health?

Cancer patients don't submit to surgery and chemotherapy because it's fun, but rather to save their very lives in the long run.

American voteing demographics are changeing as we speak..
Illegal and legal aliens(democrats) are being brought online(by the Senate)..
Invigorating the democrat party..

Are the democrats doing it?.. NO.. the republicans are..
A better question is, "What caused the republican party to commit suicide?"..
If not suicide then become quadriplegic..

Because thats surely whats happening.. Bush is NOT enforceing current law ON PURPOSE...
Its not an accident.. He is not stupid.. He knows exactly what hes doing..
He's Taking the republican apart at the seams..

BRILLIANT really.. maleficent but brilliant..

The Democrats flare up an issue they know will be controversial amongst conservatives -- the ports, immigration -- and then fan the flames to pit conservatives against one another and against the President.

TRUE! TRUE! TRUE! TRUE!

THEY have been artists and masters at that for decades. And their Marxist, globalist, NWO traitorous puppet masters are gleefully even worse at it.

It's the ol' "trickle down theory" with anger. We seem to have caught a mild case of "Bush Derangement Syndrome" ourselves. Step back from the edge everyone!! Consider the consequences, Please.
Do you realize the liberals consider Hillary Clinton, with her socialized medicine, central planning commissions, and other views we consider "radical", a MODERATE??

Oh, I have my disagreements with Bush too. But like you say, the old 80/20 rule works here too. I get 80% of what I want with Bush and 20% with the Dims.

It is very frustrating that Bush won't fight. The failure to veto anything is a sign of weakness, not a plus. Bush hasn't set a "new tone" in Washington and never will, because the Dims won't let him. Time to fight. And if he doesn't know how, he should let Cheney, Rove and Snow teach him.

I can't believe he's giving a prime time address on immigration. Every time he opens his mouth on the subject, his numbers go down.

I often wonder who the politicians in DC represent. It isn't exactly clear anymore.

I think it's very clear who most--especially in the Senate--seem to support . . .

They support
their PIED PIPER
PUPPET-MASTERS
the hideous
MARXIST, TRAITOROUS,
MACHIAVELLIAN, STALINIST
SOCIALIST, GLOBALIST
WORLD GOVERNMENT
IDIOTS!

There's hardly any room on the walls any more the handwriting on the walls is so abundant.
