President Ahmadinejad's letter to President Bush, widely interpreted as a peaceful overture, is in fact a declaration of war. The key sentence in the letter is the closing salutation. In an eight-page text of the letter being circulated by the Council on Foreign Relations, it is left untranslated and rendered as "Vasalam Ala Man Ataba'al hoda." What this means is "Peace only unto those who follow the true path."
It is a phrase with historical significance in Islam, for, according to Islamic tradition, in year six of the Hejira - the late 620s - the prophet Mohammad sent letters to the Byzantine emperor and the Sassanid emperor telling them to convert to the true faith of Islam or be conquered. The letters included the same phrase that President Ahmadinejad used to conclude his letter to Mr. Bush. For Mohammad, the letters were a prelude to a Muslim offensive, a war launched for the purpose of imposing Islamic rule over infidels.

LOL!
"Strong delusion" are the Biblical words that keep coming to my mind. - OB1
Now where is your political correctness today?
We're all supposed to play stupid and pretend Islam is just another way of "worshiping" the God of the Bible.
I'm still searching the Bible for ANY commonalities between Allah and God. So far I haven't found anything about eternal life in a brothel in the Bible, though.
I have no trouble finding common traits between Allah and another prominent Bible figure, however, i.e., the father of lies and Destruction of human souls, Satan.
Little Peanut and Klinton....Iran, unfinished business and Usama unfinished business and North Korea gets nukes during Klinton, unfinished business...The Rats!
Thanks, RR.

>>>>Vasalam Ala Man Atabaal hoda
Do you have a translation for the above?
About time, don't you think?
I should have pinged Laura myself.........sorry.
It really is like Mars Attacks; it has all the earmarks of a genuine Grade B movie.
"We increasingly see that people around the world are flocking towards a main focal point -- that is the Almighty God. Undoubtedly through faith in God and the teachings of the prophets, the people will conquer their problems. My question for you is: "Do you not want to join them?" "
Convert or die then. OK, then some of us will die but all of Iran's ruling ayatollah leadership will die to the man. I guess we will see who the true God of this universe is - the one who promotes peace, freedom and happiness for ALL MANKIND or the god of slavery, lies and murder. For those who believe that Islam is a religion of peace - Amadinijhad is simply practicing the true faith of Islam.
Here's my question: Why didn't the prime minister of Israel get a letter like this?
"Bizarre. I have this feeling that we are all just sleepwalking right now. I actually think Bush is probably paying attention and preparing, which is one of the reasons we are hearing so little out of Washington these days and probably also one of the reasons for the appointment of Hayden."
Bush was never sleepwalking nor does he give a damn about his poll "ratings". History will remember Bush as a man with true care for the people of America. To me his only real failing has been on the border issue which thankfully he is starting to make the right moves on (finally) in tightening the borders.
In certain situations, such as trials, they now try to use two translators or interpreters. Actually, they are supposed to use three, two of whom take turns while the third one supervises for accuracy and adherence to standards. However, in the translation of written documents, particularly considering the volume of documents and the small number of Arabic or Farsi translators, the work is usually done by one person (although I would suspect that a document for the NSA was reviewed and edited by more than one person).
There have been instances, including in the State Dept., of translators wilfully mistranslating or not translating, however. It's something worth noting.
Agreed. Of course, Islam itself was a pretty "strong delusion" to begin with. It would be nice if we would wake up though.
My reply to Iran would be...
NUTS.
Yesterday on the Medved show there was a guy on from "The Citizen" magazine who also confirmed this and said to watch for them to repeat this declaration during Friday Prayers....If they do that, they are about to bring it on...
Me too! Mine was Operation Steel Resolve, after the lines in the President's address to the nation on 9/11. It would be a good name for the op against Iran, too.
Chillingly so.
Bump
Amen.
