I am not sure about Richard Lamn's current politics.

He has in recent years written some very insightful and thoughtful pieces; similar to things Newt writes, where it is not clear if you would call them liberal or Conservative.
He is not a knee-jerk liberal. He wrote an article blaming the educational problems of blacks on black culture and the liberal Establishment at Denver University refused to publish it.

Agreed. EX-governor Lamm is certifiably nuts, IMHO. He can be fun as he embarrasses Democrats but this is a man who has lost touch with reality as he's trying to change it.

I will never understand why the media keeps inviting either Lamm or Gary Hart to be on TV. FYI, I still have a picture of Donna Rice on the back of my office door, to remind me of how bad Hart really was.

I went to Snopes, the urban legend-busting site, to see if this speech was a hoax. In fact, Snopes confirmed it. Not only that, but the speech is reproduced on the Snopes site sans cap-lock.

Lamm was a kook. But he makes some good points in this rant.
