The SCOTUS has ruled that there is no freedom of speech for students while in a government school. The administrators can make rules abridging such speech as they deem necessary for
maintaining order. And in this case, I'd approve of the banning. She and her mother need community shunning for being disrespectful of good manners. Would they have let a kid mock Bill Clinton or JFK? I think not.

Molly says the principal said the song was too political and would be inappropriate because it had the word hell in it, along with whiskey and cocaine and gay.You mean the school is actually trying to protect the innocence of the children rather than expose them to crap like "Heather Has Two Mommies?" Unless I suspend my disbelief, my head's gonna explode!

Let's take a look at one of these paragraphs. Notations in blue are from me:
The biting song includes lines such as: How do you sleep at night?(no comment necessary) and You dont know nothing about hard work,(lie from a millionaire who sings for a living) and You pave the road to hell(True, he sends child-killing terrorists to Hell) and What kind of father might hate her own daughter if she were gay?(lie) and Youve come a long way from whiskey and cocaine. (lie)
Either Pink is a liar, or (more likely) she's one of those dumb girls she likes to sing about so much.
Later, spaz. Go back to balling Kate. Dang, gotta feel sorry for Kate!

What ever happened to freedom of speech Betcha race right over here to protest when some kid can't sing a song about Jesus at a public school talent show. Right?

A ten year old singing a Pink song with a reference to the Bush Twins coming out of the closet is a long way from when my friend Derek and I auditioned for the talent show as The Blues Brothers back in '88. We were going to sing "Everybody Needs Somebody" but due to my crappy lip synching, we didn't make the cut.

Does Pink know that Dick Cheney's daughter is gay? If she knew, she'd probably know about Cheney spanking Edwards when he brought it up, and would know better.

What you choose to listen to in the car or at family functions with your own children is your choice. What your child sings at an elementary school assembly that my child (pre-K is four, you know) must attend is not. I used to listen to Jimmy Buffet's
Why Don't We Get Drunk and Screw ... but I don't listen to it now that I have children, and I certainly wouldn't be amused to hear it coming out of my sweet six-year old's lips. (Or my nine-year old for that matter.)
I'm sure you can find a country song that doesn't involve sex, drugs or alcohol... maybe one about a car, a dog, a train or church....
