it has been shamefully clear from the beginning of their existence that the bush admin doesn't support the Minutemen

Incredible if true. Any proof that the government was giving intelligence to Mexico for the purpose of locating the Minutemen... (ummm, would it be President Hastert then?
We'll see how it turns out. The implications are startling, but this could just amount to a misunderstanding on the part of the Inland Bulletin. Let's hope it is.

This article provides a good justification of why its not a good idea anyone 'eat crow just' yet, and the establishment GOP fans were tripping all over themselves to insist.
The story ain't over yet.

"
If, as DHS maintains, it is merely honoring U.S. treaty obligations, that is laudable and to be encouraged."
Bullcrap!
If there is such a treaty, it was snuck in on the American public by an inept and possibly traitorous Congress and signed by a complicit president.
There is nothing laudable about it.

Excellent article, thanks!
Gee, the CPB changed its tune once the DHS hammer came down...how odd...:)

This situation calls for close attention. The American people should be told exactly what DHSs component agencies have been telling Mexico. If, as DHS maintains, it is merely honoring U.S. treaty obligations, that is laudable and to be encouraged. If, however, our government is gratuitously providing a suspect regime with information about the First Amendment-protected activities of American citizens, the immigration issue is headed for a whole new dimension of controversy. And I have been holding my tongue for precisely this reason. I want all the information. Because, if the second, they have overstepped their bounds inexuscably. This is a serious allegation, and I hope for their sakes it really is inaccurate. If it is not...

Apparently aware that this is a powder keg, DHS is scrambling to justify itself. Initially, a CPB spokesman confirmed the assertions of the Mexican government website. Now, however, a back-peddling DHS is labeling the Daily Bulletin story inaccurate.
Parsing and nuancing.

Blah, blah, blah.
The right wing mary mapes and dan rather's trying to rationalize their bias over false information.
At least I can be consistent, I don't engage in such delusioanl rationalization.

If the crossings had been slow more so in all areas where they were posted and everywhere else it has been busy, that would suggest at least a mole leaking to Mexico.
I would hope that isn't the case.
I look forward to learning what the heck is going on regarding this issue.
Either it is true, or some press wrote an article out of thin air which makes the border patrol look mighty dirty.

You know I'm beginning to think Bush's comment about Clinton being a Bush Brother aren't too far off the mark.
I sent my letter of indignation to the White House last week.
I hope all FReepers will do the same.

Labeling a story as "inaccurate" is Gov Speech for "Yeah, its true but you'll never get us to admit it."

As a poster pointed out on another thread, The BP may be supplying the info to the State dept, and State is giving it to Mexico. That way, BP can legitimately say
they didn't give it to Mexico.
