No it's not an every day event...but it has happened repeatedly in the history of the country. Every war, every conflict where America has skin in the game has brought out the best in American spirit.
Yes I'm damn proud of the 3rd ACR. Just as I'm proud of the Rangers who unlisted after Somalia and the 101st troopers who reenlisted after the horrific plane crash killed four HUNDRED of their brothers in a tragic accident.
I'm proud of those Texans who "remembered the Alamo and Goliad" at the Battle of San Jacinto. Ten minutes to wipe out the Mexican army, while Santa Ana tried to squirm away from the battle dressed as a woman.
I'm proud of MacArthur who got booted in bloody fashion from Correggio and still he returned to kick A$$ and take names.
I'm proud of the policemen and firefighters who rushed into the burning Twin Towers to save their fellow Americans and then died for their efforts.
I guess I'm just damn proud of this country and I'll bet I'm not alone...although you seem to think YOU are all alone in lauding the efforts of these magnificent soldiers. We who carry our love for them in our hearts 24/7/365 see no need to bray it out to the world on an event driven basis.
Crap that would be reenlisted after Somalia. Sometimes my TANG just gets all TONGUE'LD up!

The one thing that the left will NEVER understand is Duty.
They'll never feel the nose ring being pulled by the call; if it doesn't involve someone else's pocketboot or sex life they can't see it. Sacrifice is an abstract related only to their diet.
Thank you, each and every one of you that has served.
God bless these men for responding to the call of duty.
