I'm more upset with Conservatives than I am with George W. Bush

Posted on 05/08/2006 7:04:26 PM PDT by mwfsu84

If I had told you on 9/11/2001 that we'd go four and half years and counting without another terrorist attack on US soil, would you have believed me?

If I had told you that US-led forces would secure Afghanistan in just a few months...something the Soviets couldn't accomplish in ten years...would you have thought I was crazy?

If I had told you that Saddam was gone, that Khadaffy had renounced terrorism, and that Iraq was on the verge of becoming the second democracy in the Middle East, would have thought I was on medication?

Sometimes in our disappointment of this administration, we often forget some of the positives. The economy is strong. More Americans are homeowners. With tax cuts, we're spending less time working for Uncle Sam.

And if you take those benefits for granted, just imagine how much different things would be under a President Al Gore.

So if the president's stance on immigration and spending upset you - and they do upset me - what are you going to do about it? Stay at home? Nothing could be worse for conservativism. Your non-support will usher in more immigrants, higher taxes, and weaker national security.

If the GOP loses Congress, George W. Bush will be removed from office. Nothing would embolden terrorists more. How can we be counted on to wage an effective war when we can't even decide who our enemy is?

George W. Bush isn't the enemy. But that's exactly the message conservatives will send to the world if they stay at home this November.

If you're upset with W. on immigration - write him, write a Republican Congressman, let him know how you feel. It was conservatives who got Bush to change his mind on Harriet Meirs.

I promise you, a Democratic Congress won't be nearly as responsive to your needs.

OK.........Gotcha.

Good thing the leftists and the Bush hating troll crowd here won't get their way in November.

The Republicans will maintain control of both houses. Dick Cheney will NOT be our President...........unless he runs in '08.......(I can dream, can't I?)

There are very few Conservatives inside the beltway. W is a good man, but he is not a Conservative. I giving aid and comfort to 20m illegal immigrants breaking American law Conservative? Is spending money on pork a Conservative principle?

It might be a good idea to assume that at least some of that 20% is posturing (which is not necessarily at bad thing), and an actual vote would be different. Like every election shows, polls don't mean everything.

Some of them (*gasp!*) may actually think for themselves.

If you disagree with the party line, then you are either (a) a deep plant circa 2004, or (b) being manipulated by the MSM. There is no room for debate by anyone who understands demographics, voting trends and history.

The various GOP stalwarts & 'bots like to address the WoT, the economy, SC nominees, etc without realizing that it's all for naught if the underlying culture/society of the US is irrevocably altered.

It's happened continualy throughout history and it's happening again before our very eyes. Makes for an interesting analysis of how prior civilizations fell: those that hated the status quo & invited the invaders as allies; and those that controlled the status quo & invited the invaders to help feather their nest until the long knives came out in the end.

They try to have it both ways: either the WH is impotent or it's Herculean in strength!

I hate their dishonesty.

Oh, that story down the page about the "divided GOP base" will make sense of it all.

Exactly. These people are so gullible...spoon fed like a baby by the media.

...and how can you trust anyone who says..."Have you actually been watching the media lately? Their whole angle by and large has been pro-amnesty." Anyone who relies on and quotes the DBM [Drive-by-media] can't be taken seriously.

Who's claiming that the White House is powerless? Spineless in certain areas, maybe, but that's not the same thing at all.

We are determined to hold them accountable and bring forward a new group of CONSERVATIVE Republicans.

Well, where is your list of these "new" conservatives?

You're right. They're trying to separate us. And they're doing a fairly good job of it which scares me.

"...dose not reflect your stance."

"DOSE" not reflect my stance? It's called "Spell Check". You might want to look into it.

Agitprop? You don't take the border conservatives as seriously as I do.

I don't take the border conservatives seriously?

I am a border conservative. Many of the critiques of the agitprop you see around here also are border conservatives.

It's not a contradiction to be for border control and against border propaganda.

You should take seriously the damage border agitprop can do to our cause.

NO........my 'sales pitch' is having your number, and knowing that, based on your words right here on this thread, that you don't give a rip about this country.

It's not 'hyperbole' to say that such a man is my enemy. It's calling a spade a spade.

IF you cared about life. IF you cared about national security. IF you cared about our men and women in uniform..........you would NOT be saying the things you are saying here.

If you side with the left, you should be a man, and accept the consequences of your decision to do so. And in this case, it is to be called the enemy of what is right and good in this country.

Ronnie ended the Cold War, and vetoed spending like mad. I voted for him twice. The best President this country ever had.
