I'm more upset with Conservatives than I am with George W. Bush

Posted on 05/08/2006 7:04:26 PM PDT by mwfsu84

If I had told you on 9/11/2001 that we'd go four and half years and counting without another terrorist attack on US soil, would you have believed me?

If I had told you that US-led forces would secure Afghanistan in just a few months...something the Soviets couldn't accomplish in ten years...would you have thought I was crazy?

If I had told you that Saddam was gone, that Khadaffy had renounced terrorism, and that Iraq was on the verge of becoming the second democracy in the Middle East, would have thought I was on medication?

Sometimes in our disappointment of this administration, we often forget some of the positives. The economy is strong. More Americans are homeowners. With tax cuts, we're spending less time working for Uncle Sam.

And if you take those benefits for granted, just imagine how much different things would be under a President Al Gore.

So if the president's stance on immigration and spending upset you - and they do upset me - what are you going to do about it? Stay at home? Nothing could be worse for conservativism. Your non-support will usher in more immigrants, higher taxes, and weaker national security.

If the GOP loses Congress, George W. Bush will be removed from office. Nothing would embolden terrorists more. How can we be counted on to wage an effective war when we can't even decide who our enemy is?

George W. Bush isn't the enemy. But that's exactly the message conservatives will send to the world if they stay at home this November.

If you're upset with W. on immigration - write him, write a Republican Congressman, let him know how you feel. It was conservatives who got Bush to change his mind on Harriet Meirs.

I promise you, a Democratic Congress won't be nearly as responsive to your needs.

I totally agree! Even if it's a conservative democrat. We must do things in a smart way. We want to replace the RINOs but with conservatism. We dont want to replace a RINO with a Pelosi type.

You're posting straight out of the Carville/Begala playbook.

Here's a far more workable conservative template: Replace as many Democrats as possible with RINOs and replace as many RINOs as possible with conservative Republicans.

Almost every RINO is preferable to almost every Democrat.

Even if it's a conservative democrat.

I would vote for a conservative Democrat like Zell Miller over many of our false Republicans anytime!

We share a common goal!

Sometimes, walking though a maze will require some twists and turns that are not immediately desired. But if the end result is obtained, then we have done our duty as American citizens.

It's a matter of life and death. And YOU are on the side of death.

It's not a game, inquest. It's not about YOU.

The Specter essentially IS a Dimmycrap. If he were honest, he would run as one

Do you think a democrat as chairman of the judiciary would have allowed Alito and Roberts out of committee? Get real. I can't stand the idiot BUT he is our idiot and the GOP does have a bit of leverage with him.

You mean the human shields the Republicans are so desperately hiding behind?

That comment disqualifies you from being offered any serious consideration on anything you say.

That is despicable. Don't bother replying...not interested in anything you have to say.

They do want the border secured...but if you further explore that you will discover that most want it secured essentially in the way the President has proposed.

The details of how it's done are negotiable. But they want it done. And tying it to amnesty as the President and most of Congress insist on doing is simply a poison pill to avoid having to do it, despite their assurances that they do.

No one who is pro-life.....No one who is conservative, can tolerate the thought of throwing out even the wimpiest Republicans in Congress and replacing them with pro-death traitors.

YES, you have nailed it!

If LIFE can be so easily tossed aside in the haughty name of "principles" then what the hell principles matter?

Excellent post, my dear FRiend.

I'll take a Zell Miller over Specter anyday. Specter has done more to pave the road to impeaching Bush than Pelosi ever has. He's even trying to make spying on Al Qaeda to be contraversial.

I don't know of any Conservatives who "root for Rat victories.".

Exactly. If you don't vote against Democrats by voting for Republicans you are rooting for Democrat victories. Conservatives don't do that.

If you're rooting against Democrat victories, you vote Republican.

That is despicable.

Pointing out the cynical behavior of Republican politicians is despicable? Oh well, I guess I'll learn to live with it.

No, conservatives are 'not' a majority and it is unlikely that they ever will be. They are, at best, a plurality, and a majority of the majority.

Anybody who doesn't realize this is bound to not only be disappointed, but is also bound to betray their own cause out of stupidity.

"Did the White House escort primary voters into the booth at gunpoint to force them to vote for Specter?"

OH PULLLLLLEEEEEEEZZZZZZE!!!!

Would you please change your screen name? By making statements like the one above, you give Texas and Texans a bad name.
