I said that Wilson revealed he was the Ambassador who was the source for the May 2003 Nicholas Kristof piece and the June 2003 Walter Pincus piece, in which he falsely accused the Administration of jiggering evidence on June 14, 2003 at the Washington EPIC conference (where he also listed his wife’s name as “Valerie Plame.”) There’s ample reason to believe he flourished her name and connection to the agency in greater detail regularly, which makes the entire investigation into who publicly disclosed her identity particularly ridiculous. A shrewd reader at Free Republic has found this article (wayback says it was posted July 7, 2003 - before Novak’s article) See if you can guess who was the “former state department official with ties to the CIA” who was a source for this article which the wayback machine says was posted on July 7, 2003. Ray McGovern, who was the other featured speaker at the EPIC conference and a leading member of the VIPs—one who openly called on CIA employees to leak – is a named source. A second source is described only as a “former state department official with ties to the CIA.” I strongly suspect “former state department official” is none other than Ambassador Munchausen himself, referring to his wife’s employment to strengthen his credentials. And I have reason to believe that has been a pattern, as the witnesses Libby has announced he’ll call will demonstrate.

[JUNE 19, 2003]: "Says a former US ambassador with strong links to the CIA: "There was certainly information coming from the Iraqi exile community, including Chalabi--who was detested by the CIA and by the State Department--saying, 'They will welcome you with open arms.'"

WOW, and this article from lefty socialist rag "The Nation" was posted on June 19, 2003!!! It sure sounds like Joe Wilson was talking to them BEFORE June 19, 2003 and had used his wife's CIA employment to burnish his credentials. This writer should be subpoenaed in the Libby case, along with David Corn. Nicholas Kristof, Walter Pincus, Robert Dreyfuss, David Corn, and other journalists such as the unnamed Guardian writer probably ALL knew in May-June 2003, from Joe Wilson himself, something of Valerie Pflame's employment with the CIA. Joe Wilson was not exactly a model of discretion and sound judgment!!

Remember that David Corn of "The Nation" is the one who began flogging the fanciful 'revenge' conspiracy theory against the WH immediately after the Novak article. Then Joe Wilson received some passionate tribute and award at a dinner sponsored by "The Nation" later that fall.

Novak is an old timer and probably knew Valerie BEFORE she married Joe (1998) and was Clinton friendly. I believe they lived at the Watergate.

When Novak called her an operative, he meant just that....a Dem Operative...and he said so directly. The strange thing is that Joe talked about Valerie with Novak just before Novak's article came out...and more than once.

Joe said "leave my wife out of this". I believe Novak responded that she's "Fair Game"...hence the title of Valerie's book.

Bubba MUST HAVE known that Valerie was CIA...and if Bubba knew, Hillary knew.

No matter how you cut this, the leak came from the Dem camp.

The secret was Who went to Niger??...not who is Joe Wilson's wife. Joe is responsible for the entire load of garbage AND Joe said that Iraq didn't purchase Yellow Cake legally...and if they did, they did it illegally.
