Been nice knowin' ya, America

By Dimitri Vassilaros TRIBUNE-REVIEW Sunday, May 7, 2006

Will the next generation of U.S. citizens consider themselves Americans or post-Americans? Better still, why wouldn't they consider themselves post-Americans? Considering how quickly this republic is unraveling, is it too late to ask rhetorical questions?

Let's not forget these amnesty plans are not only for Mexicans that are here illegaly, but for all those islamic terrorists hiding here as well. We tend to be focused on the Mexicans, but there are a few million "others" as well, all with a loyaly to an evil bent on destroying us. The mexicans are less of a threat in that respect, at least they are Christian, they may actually fight the other threat.

You could have made a shorter headline: "Adios"

what's different these days is that the framework for the one world global economy/order is in place.

all too many people think the one-world kumbaya utopia will solve it all...

What if however you were a child now?

Uh you would have a long life expectancy and not have to worry about having food in your stomcch or shoes on your feet.

Children and parents 200(even 100) years ago did have to worry about the basic necessities of life.

Oh but I forgot, those evil American farmers who grow food and have evil people with Spanish surnames hired to help pick and process that food, are the demise of America as we know it, nevermind.

I don't know.....the immigration issue is a part of a much bigger issue and that would be the path of socialism that this country is on.

The founding fathers knew of the dangers:

from the Federalist paper No. 1:
Hamilton writes:

....the vigor of government is essential to the security of liberty; that, in the contemplation of a sound and well-informed judgment, their interests can never be separated; and that a dangerous ambition more often lurks behind the specious mask of zeal for the rights of people than under the forbidden appearance of zeal for the firmness and efficiency of government. History will teach us that the former has been found a much more certain road to the introduction of despotism than the latter, and that of those men who have overturned the liberties of republics, the greatest number have begun their career by paying an obsequious court to the people, commencing demagogues and ending tyrants.

You are exactly right. That is why I always refer to myself as an American Indian.

>>In the past we have always had to courage to face our major problems and stand up for what America has always stood for, no matter how tough we had to be it was worth it for the good of the country.

I agree that we can face up to the problems of today and we are able to solve them. I just hope we have enough guts to do so.<<

Humans, including Americans, have a remarkable ability to not face up to problems until they are staring them in the face and can't be ignored. Americans have always shown great strength at that point.

I think your article is right on the money. If the DemocRATs are smart, they will sit back and do nothing about the immigration issue. The GOP base is imploding because of this issue. The DemocRATS' latest bit of rhetoric about America needing even MORE illegal immigrants to pay the Social Security benefits for the upcoming boomer baby retirements was a stroke of brilliance. Judging from what I'm hearing from callers to talk radio, a lot of the "slower" listeners have bought into that.

Everybody wants to get in on the act. Thousands of problem-recogizers but few problem solvers. It's not like no one knows there's a problem. Everybody already knows there is a problem. What we need is a solid, workable, chronological solution.

If the Republic is well on it's way out the door, what should be done to slam the door before it gets there?

What should be done immediately and who should do it? That's the first question to answer. We need an 'if-then-else' logic chart to follow.

What's the goal? Put that at the bottom of the chart.

What must to done to attain that goal? That is the process.

Identify the factors that need to be processed, and the order that the factors must be dealt with.

We need a systems analysis and a coding team. There it is. All laid out. Step Number One, form a Citizens Non-Governmental Organization to lay out a plan of action to roll back the influences of the UN NGO's and gummint quislings.

We have the manpower, we have the brains, we have the strategists. But do we have the will and all the resources we will need?

President Bush just laid out Putin for not allowing NGO's to roam around Russia without government interference.

I can assume from that that there will be no interefence from our own gummint as we meet, plan, roam around the country, gather resources and data, act and do what is necessary to restore our Republic before the doors are ripped off completely.

So who wants to volunteer and join the Citizen's Non-Governmental Organization to help establish a plan of restoration. No one can argue that our Republic is not an endangered species.

Ad Hoc committee, anyone?

I believe it's quite different now. In the 1890's you didn't have Irish coming here with the goal to make the U.S. an Irish Republic. I believe most Muslims would like the U.S. to become an Islamic Republic some day and the illegals demanding "Reconquista." Things are different in the 21st century

Huh, how conviently we forget, "Irish need not apply" or "pig Irish" from the Boston Brahmans and others in the 19th century.

The more things change, the more things stay the same, especially with the resurgence of 19th century "know nothing" political thinking and cynicism by some on the right.

I don't want to minimize that issue - its real. But we have been closer to socialism in the past and today we have the failure of the Soviet Union and transformation of China as lessons. That won't stop socialism threats - look at Venezuela and Bolivia but I am nonetheless optimistic.

Don't be so sure you won't be here in 30-40 years. You might bear witness to it all falling apart, unless that rudder (faith) is rebuilt, and we get back on course. It could happen. We have detroit building hemi's and muscle cars again, so you never know.

I doubt it. Look at Europe, particularly Britain. The Republic may be destroyed, but because it is replaced by a neofascist dictatorship. Neofascism is the future of the West. The PNP and other similar parities are surging across Europe, and the rise of a similar movements in Japan. I sadly think that democracy and free governments have run their course. They have proved incapable of rising to the challenges of the 21st century, thus will fall. Democracies not are generally not workings in this new century. The sad, inevitable result of liberalism, declining morals and rampant irresponsibility. Government by the people requires the highest standards of morality and responsibility. Responsibility and morality seem to have largely disappeared in the west. Thus elected governments will disappear.
