What is your purpose in posting this? What is your purpose for asking? You are arrogant and shouldn't care why a story is posted. It seems, though, that with the response of numerous posts, that his purpose was well worth it. Shew, flea!

Not to mention that an Anesthesiologist is a full medical doctor and might be a bit smarter medically than the paras on scene!

It's your right, to be sure.
As is mine to call a pompous ass out on being one - "whenever I damn well please".

This really hits close to home.
My ex husband remarried and has a beautiful family. He and his wife are good people, good parents.
His 18 year old daughter ran her car into a tree a few weeks ago; she would have graduated this year.
The accident happened less than 200 yards from their driveway. She was on her way home from school.
My brother told me they (state trooper)called him (ex) at work, and from what I understand he drove home.I don't know about the wife, but she had to have heard the ambulance and fire sirens, and seen the lights. She is a stay at home Mom.
The school bus was the first to come upon the wreck scene and call the rescue authorities, and a younger daughter was on the bus.
I can't imagine the horror this family is going through. I can't help but hurt for them, and I have been praying for them everyday. Nobody should have to bury a child, I can't imagine how painful that would be.

See my post 124. I suspect my ex and his wife had the same scenario.
Sorry you had to go through such a tragedy. I just can't get my ex and his family out of my mind. I have been praying that God bring them comfort, because it had to have been a horrible experience.
And I suspect a parent never stops grieving over a lost child. So sorry to hear about your daughter.

When my son was 14 he was hit by a speeding car. I got a phone call (a phone call!) from a Montgomery County Police officer telling me he was being choppered to Children's Hospital in DC. Once my coworkers picked me up off the floor, I got into my car and drove from Rockville, MD to Children's Hospital - on I-70, the Beltway and then surface roads - in rush hour traffic, driving in the emergency lanes where I could, and passed at least one Maryland State Police car in the process. I also passed a DC Police car or two along the way. None of them batted an eye or came after me, which I was almost hoping to have happen, because neither I or the co-worker who rode with me knew how to get to Children's Hospital. My now adult son is OK - a terrific surgeon, a titanium plate, 9 self-tapping stainless steel screws and 7 months in various casts have him walking pretty darn good nowadays.
I suppose I could have easily ended up in a situation similar to this guy. Prayers for his daughter and the rest of their family.

Sounds like to me that the police and emergency guys got their feelings hurt now want to use the law to seek revenge on this guy.
If I thought my daughter was dying I might have killed any son of b!tch who tried to keep me from seeing her.
There are some who strap on a badge and immediately become all knowing Blarney Fifes.
I wonder just how close he really came to the helicopter.
Maybe the police report was fake but accurate.

"The father is an anesthesiologist and probably had more medical training than the paramedics."
Yea, he does have more training in his field. I have been in the fire/EMS service for about 19 years and one of the worst things to ever arrive on an accident scene is a doctor or nurse. They are used to having every thing calm and cool and in a controlled setting. We work in the smashed upside down cars with fuel leaking out and blood dripping down all over the place.
I have jumped guard rails to keep from being crushed by out of control cars. I have had drunks nearly hit the car we were cutting people out of. I have seen cars drive around the barricades when a helicopter was loading a patient.
I have been hit while a family member was screaming at me to save their family member. That just goes with the job. When someone actually starts endangering peoples lives, that is different.

Has common sense left us? Is there nobody left who, when confronted with an unpleasant situation, doesn't immediately wish to file charges or file suit?

"Oh my, yes, let emts treat your (possibly) dying child, when you are a doctor trained in emergency care. That makes sense!"
They are not trained in emergency care. They are sititng on a chair in the OR and tube the patient who is laying there with a perfectly clear airway. We tube people whose mouths are full of vomit, food, broken teeth... on the side of the road or sometimes, in the seat, while the car is bieng cut apart so we can get them out.
To: OKIEDOC
yeah, i think we met a few there.
it's a good thing they were outnumbered
by the wonderful drs and nurses at the
hospital and on that lifeflight taking
care of our son.

Well as you can probably guess I barely made it out of English class as an undergrad.
But that aside some people have a power complex and want to project their fear of failure on to others.
However, some are just as I stated, Horses Asses.
