PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Rep. Patrick Kennedy was still in college when he took elected office as a state representative. Nearly two decades later, he has spent his entire adult life as a lawmaker.

(snip)

In Congress, Kennedy has pushed for greater mental health care coverage, citing his own struggles with depression and addiction.

(snip)

A tennis player and avid reader of biographies and autobiographies, Kennedy has a passion for sailing.

"He can go out and be out of the public eye. It's tranquil, and it's something he enjoys," Marcella said.

(snip)

"He's a warm, nice, optimistic, kind person. That's what comes across one on one,"

******Nearly two decades later, he has spent his entire adult life as a lawmaker******

Let me straightn this out.

Nearly two decads later he has spent his entire life sucking on the govt. tit, leading a privileged life expenses paid by the taxpayers and lobbyists.

He hasnt hit a lick in his life nor has any of his family.
They wouldnt know a good days labor if it hit them in the face.

This author could care less about Teddy Kennedy's addict son. This is Democrat Party damage control. In the Godfather we found out that the mob controlled some newspapers and could spin Michael Corleone's murder of a corrupt policeman. I guarantee the criminal enterprise known as the Democrat Party controls a lot more newspapers than Mario Puzo could had ever dreamed of the Corleone family controlling when he wrote the Godfather.

I'm not sure exactly how it was Patches decided to be a Congressman, but there is no doubt that a man of his mental health shouldn't be there. The Democratic Party mostly uses him for fundraising, as he is one of the most prodigious fundraisers in the House. It's not like his district won't elect another Democrat, I think he should definitely do himself and his constituents a favor and step aside.

One Democrat activist in Rhode Island said to me today, Kennedy is toast. He is done.

I'll believe it when I see it.

There is little short of sodomizing a child on live TV that will ruin a Kennedy.

Tony Marcella, Kennedy's longtime friend and former chief of staff, painted Kennedy as a workaholic.

"When you look at Patrick Kennedy and look at what he does, he lives for his job. He is constantly working," Marcella said. "I think he really enjoys what he does

Umm - wasn't Patches quoted as having said, "I've never worked a f***ing day in my life!!" ???

Kennedy has a passion for sailing

Didn't Patrick get sued a few years back for trashing a rental sailboat?

A member of the spoiled idle rich with mental problems who likes to play sailor...

And what office does this qualify him for?...and what qualifications for leadership does he posses?... what life experience in leadership has gained?...what moral tests has he passed?.. what trials has he overcome?....

What on earth would qualify him to even be considered for such a critically important job?.......

He is still a drunk, drug addict,he believes he is above the law...

Of course it also seems 'the law' believes the elite idle rich druggies are above it too...

imo

He is done. He has had years to resolve these things and we are sick of it. He is done.

He most emphatically is not done. He is an absolute symbol of what the lower-intellected end of his age bracket is all about. He will have 65% of the white female vote forever. He will be a Senator. He is not only a Kennedy, he is a long-lost Baldwin brother. These troubles will only add to huiis appeal.

"We," are sick of it? "We," means white male voters over 50. In Rhode Island that's not enough to win for dog warden.

It's that kind of blind idol-worship that gave us 9/11.

Oh, how true. Some of the most classy, dignified, considerate, generous, optimistic, and wonderful people I've ever known had very little money. Kennedys prove that the rich can be just as generous as any other Democrat as long as they can get the government to do it for them. That is, ask not what you can do for someone else of your own volition, ask why isn't the government doing it so I don't have to.

Trouble with most of our politicians -- few have actually had to live in the real world or hold a real job.
