This is old news. Fox has already caved to USA pressure and sent it back to their Congress for a rewrite.

This will become a huge disaster, increasing illicit traffic across the border dramatically.
Pay attention, libertarians: Mexico will be uninhabitable within a few years.

That loud crash you just heard was the Libertarians jumping to the other side of the immigration debate...

Mexico has passed a sweeping bill legalizing the possession of small quantities of almost all illegal drugs, including heroin and cocaine. The regime, likely to be one of the most liberal in the world, is designed to avoid clogging prisons with drug addicts, allowing police to go after big-time dealers.
This makes plenty of sense. Maybe on the next reform they can legalize small amounts of rape and murder which will free up the el copo's to go after the big-time rapists and serial and mass murderers.

Pay attention, libertarians: Mexico will be uninhabitable within a few years. So Mexico today is a peaceful and successful nation with all its drug laws?

If this passes, it will be (another) excellent reason--and excuse (as though we needed one)--for fortifying the border, stationing the armed forces along the U.S.-Mexico border, and scrutinizing those crossing the border into the U.S. as stringently as people are screened before bordering air planes.
This should be done not only to prevent the importation of drugs but also the immigration of terrorists and their weapons and potential weapons.

If it were inhabitable now, we wouldn't have an illegal immigration problem!

I dont believe in filling jails with drug addicts either. I am in favor of having police make anyone caught with drugs eat whatever drugs they are caught with and then going home.
To: jackbenimble
I've got a little secret..when it comes to Mexico this thing is a big joke.

I am trying not to be too sarcastic here--but how will we tell the difference between now and then. :-)

So Mexico today is a peaceful and successful nation with all its drug laws? No, but at least it's habitable and visitable.
To: cowboyway
Maybe on the next reform they can legalize small amounts of rape and murder Rape and murder violate rights; drug use does not.

As Know Your Rights has already said, peoples rights arent violated by responsible personal drug use.
The "drug use is equal to murder" argument is beyond all common sense and logic.
To: COUNTrecount
Fox vetoed this Libertarian/Drug Lords bill of possession rights.
