Ooooh ... what beautiful old birds. That Super is nothing short of awesome -- hope it took Oshkosh's Grand Champion award. We used to see all sorts of birds from this era, like a Beech Staggerwing or two, the occasional Harlow, Stearmans, and such, at local airport open houses and air shows. Sigh ... thanks for the memories! :-)

The Gulfhawk namew rang a bell so I had to Google it. There are two different Gulfhawks, one by Curtis and the later one by Grumman.
The Grumman Gulfhawk was a civil verrsion of the F3F Naval fighter. If this is the same plane as the ol' model, and even if not :-), I will use it for the Friday Flyby next week.

As a kid I grew up living on one of the approaches to Lambert Field in St Louis. Got to see all manner of Aircraft at the time.
