ST. PAUL (AP) - For more than a year, Tom Thompson has read the glossy brochures, taken the phone calls and even received personal visits from the Republicans fighting for the party's backing in the 6th Congressional District.

State Sen. Michele Bachmann is leading in a hard-fought race that also includes businessman Jay Esmay and state Reps. Jim Knoblach and Phil Krinkie. I wanted badly to watch this endorsement contest. I was gonna drive up to Monticello to watch it.
I was even gonna drop in at the DFL's endorsing convention in the 5th District. That's over in St Louis Park. Much closer to my residence in Mpls.
I don't know about you but I'd rather have Phil Krinkie win the endorsement. I know Michele Bachmann is the darling of social conservatives but I'm afraid that she may lose in November to Wetterling or Tinklenberg.
Phil is my House rep. and THE most fiscally conservative.
Much needed in Congress.
The Club for Growth endorsed Krinkle.
Look at the quality of the GOP candidates in the 6th, compare that to those in the Democrat party.
he's the only true conservative in the House and an honestly decent person.
