US Constitution - Article 1 - Section 6: The Senators and Representatives shall receive a compensation for their services, to be ascertained by law, and paid out of the treasury of the United States. They shall in all cases, except treason, felony and breach of the peace, be privileged from arrest during their attendance at the session of their respective Houses, and in going to and returning from the same; and for any speech or debate in either House, they shall not be questioned in any other place.
Patches has, no doubt, been told by a lawyer to always say that he is on his way to a vote or debate whenever he is stopped by the police. As long as he has not been found to be drunk, the police would not be allowed to detain him or even question him.
The Ambien story is just a way to explain the idiocy of claiming he is headed to a vote at 3:00 AM. Better to say he is disoriented by his medicine that to say he pulls this technicality out of his hat whenever he gets popped for drunk driving.
Arrested for booze shopping...
Q: How many Kennedy's does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: One - but not until 18 hours after it blows out.
Ok , lets see the medicine bottle with the date on it when he got it ..That's a simple way of proving it ..where is the druggest , where is the record that he got the perscription? That bullsh*t story could be confirmed or knocked down in an hour by even a half witted detective..
I hate the Kennedy's ..frauds the lot of them
Jerkwad is claiming sleep driving...
the pills have a strange effect when you mix them with booze..
Hold fire will not happen, you know. Maybe Pat gets another rehab..
Ever wonder why the Kennedy family always finds trouble?
From my expierence with many drunk people, I know that once a drunk person gets an idea into their head i.e. "I'm going to go vote and no one can stop me" nothing will stop them from carying out their task.
No doubt so has Patrick's lawyer. Hence the new storyline.
I can't wait until that smarmy douche bag John Stewart gets ahold of this story. I'm sure he'll spare no pieties, dripping with irony (OK, I won't hold my breath!)
Pass the popcorn! This one is going to have the DNC spinning overtime!
My 2 year old daughter tells better lies! LOL!!! Butter on my popcorn... PLEASE!
"Kennedy said he had taken sleep medication and a prescription anti-nausea drug that can cause drowsiness."
So Kennedy admits to DWI, (now called Driving While Impared) and needs to get booked on charges. I wonder if any up-and-coming prosecutor wants to charge him??
Because they are a bunch of low rent thuggish louts (or loutish thugs, take your pick)?
What a POS he really is.
The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
Howie Carr/Boston Herald is writing a column on this issue (tomorrow I think) in his own unique fashion.
I got question does Patrick have any aide that could drive him home if he was not feeling well HELLOOOOO
Fabulous FReeper comments bump!
