The lawyer for Zacarias Moussaoui's mother expressed delight Wednesday that the Frenchman was spared the death penalty, and vowed to lead a legal battle to bring the al-Qaida conspirator home.
A federal jury in Alexandria, Va., on Wednesday decided Moussaoui should spend life in prison for his role in the Sept. 11, 2001 attack, rejecting the government's appeal for death.
Moussaoui, a Frenchman of Moroccan descent, is the only person charged in the United States in connection with the four suicide jetliner hijackings that killed nearly 3,000 people.
"We will pursue unrelentingly a request to French authorities that they demand a return of Zacarias Moussaoui to France," said Patrick Baudouin, the lawyer for Moussaoui's mother, Aicha El Wafi. "So the fight isn't over far from it it is only beginning."

Mousaui will not have "health problems" which will demand he be returned to France (cheese eating surrender monkeys) for humaaaanitarian reasons, for mercy.
The same mercy shown on 9/11.
McNichols should be dead too.
The country is insane. It is like a scene from Planet of the Apes. We also live in a world run by and for the good of robots (corporations). The human being is of no significance, but the needs of the corporation are supreme.
Send him back to France......one piece at a time.
LMAO "France" and "demand" in the same phrase???? No mommy, your son is not going anywhere before he goes to hell.
Good commentary in your blog, but I would say that the left knows full well we're at war, and would happily acknowledge the fact if one of their guys was sitting in the Oval Office. It was war most dire when Clinton went to war in Kosovo, according to them.
No, for the 'Rats, it's all about power--getting it and keeping it--and the country be d*mned.
What the hell is happening to the country I love?
This country is Democratic if you are a legal citizen and Socialist if you are illegal.
'Nah - shipping would cost too much. How about an urn?"
Nah- How about a big basket of stuffed pork chops?
This is why it should have been tried in a military tribunal. France will say in a few years oh look he's all better, we're going to let him out.
The only good thing that came out of this is that FINALLY the MSM started showing Sept.11th again.
Thank you. My thoughts exactly. I am horrified at the prospect of my 12 and 8 year-old sons growing up in a country that has lost its resolve to protect itself without apology.
When slick willie was in charge, it was a pretend war. Everyone knew he would never have the courage to actually do much more than jaw jaw and eventually apologyze for doing nothing of substance, other than destroying Serbia on behalf of the islamotrash.
I predict a joint media appearance by Aicha El Wafi and Cindy Sheehan before the end of this month.
I hope that jury is proud of themselves.
What next?
American hostages taken to effect an exchange for him.
The jury should be put in jail for this travesty.
His mother probably won't be around much longer.
That will only help the cause. Watch the lefties (including the media) emote over the "tragedy" this "poor man" has had to endure in his life. (And keep your barf-bag ready.)
Even worse, there were stories that the judge might well have overruled the death penalty if the jury had decided to impose it. The judge supposedly (don't have a link, because I heard this on the Fox last night) didn't think he'd done anything "heinous" enough to warrant the death penalty. Helping to kill almost 3,000 people isn't heinous?
"How 'bout in a casket?"
more like a plastic bag...
where all trash goes.
We should bring back the guillotine for people like him. Make it a public televised event. A couple dozen fanatics lose their heads live on television and terrorist related activities would most certainly decline.
You think Al Jazeera would aire it?
"He should have faced a tribunal."
Mule cookies! He should have faced a firing
squad. THEN he could have faced a tribunal.
