Whose side is Podheretz on?
Podhoretz is on the open borders side.
JPod (as he is known on the National Review website) is esentially a cultural liberal who is on the side of the open-borders lobby. He is just upset that these marches are making him look stupid now.

I noticed that too. I was thinking..... so, now people who are for securing our borders and enforcing our laws are now the "restrictionist right".
If they aren't that they are racist, too lazy to work, etc. I'm sick of the bashing of Americans who believe in upholding the rule of law in this country!
Podhoretz sympathizes with the amnesty crowd and sees no problem the high level of illegal immigrants in the population. His concern is that the issue is playing out in a way he does not like.
If you read the whole article, it appears it's not on the right side of things. I'm disappointed in this column.
