Call from Dennis the Menace
Phone | tonight | me

Posted on 05/01/2006 4:50:03 PM PDT by CertainInalienableRights

I just received a call from Dennis Kucinich. It was a precorded bit of mindless drooling.

Anyhow, what I found interesting, is my caller ID registered Digital NRG. 214.764.1441. 214 isn't one of the area codes for this area, so I gave them a call. Turns out its this place http:\\www.digitalnrg.com. They are headquartered in Texas with an office in China.

So, the man who's always droning about jobs, couldn't be bothered to even hire a company from his home state, much less his home district.

For all who are interested, here's the text of his call (with my editorial comments in italics):

"This is Congressman Dennis Kucinich.

The oil companies think they can keep running up the price of gasoline to $3 or $4 a gallon and no one will do anything about it. Well they're wrong.

There are now 50 members of Congress who have signed on to my legislation to impose a 100% excess profit tax on the oil companies. This would not tax the price of gasoline, only the excess profits of the oil companies.

He's kidding, right? Does he still think that corporations pay taxes - he does know that those taxes will simply be passed onto the consumer - right? Can you say "higher prices" Dennis? I knew you could.

I'm not going to stand by and watch you and your family pay through the nose, while politics, oil markets, supplies and prices are manipulated to further gigantic profits at your expense.

If 9 cents/gallon of profit is price manipulation, than what do you call the 18 cents/gallon federal gasoline tax, Dennis?

I'll stay on this, because I know its important to you.

Will you be staying on this while you're busy not showing up for your duties in Congress, even though we continue to pay you? Won't it be hard to "stay on this" when you're in California, visiting your new friends in Hollywood (whom you don't represent, by the way).

This is Congressman Dennis Kucinich. Thank You.

And remember to vote in tomorrow's primary election.

Thank You."

I think I'm gonna hurl. Do you know how many times I had to listen to this message from my machine to get it all down?

My supply of Diesel is likely to last into August. Until then, I don't care.

Embarassing as it is to say, I live in his district.

On the plus side, he's all the reason I need to vote - I relish the thought of voting against him every year he's up for reelection, even though I'm outnumbered by drooling moonbats and union thugs in Cleveland.

Ahhhh, Kooky Kucinich. It's a wonder that he can get elected as a Cleveland dog catcher, let alone a representative. What a loon!

The "price of gas" issue is a decoy - the real issue was out on the streets in several major cities today. Illegals are the issue that politicians don't want us to think about.

I suppose proper etiquette requires that I respond to this post, even if I have nothing to say.

So, the man who's always droning about jobs

I live in NJ and it is one of the last two states that require that your gas be pumped by an attendant. My Governor, ex Senator Corzine suggested that to lower the price of gas we should go to self serve. And not one word from our press that 7,000 people would lose their job!

It never ceases to amaze me at the minutae of our lives that our "representatives" feel the need to legislate.

I used to have relatives in NJ (Sparta). They've all since moved to other states.

I just moved from the Other state that has mandatory pumping - and I have to say that's one thing I truly miss from there. I moved back to California where gas is anywhere from 30-40 cents a gallon MORE.

I am hoping to leave upon retirement, but it looks like all the warm and friendly locations are being taken over by illegal immigrants.

Hey Certain,

Thanks for this post. I am too cheap to pay for caller ID, but it has served a purpose here. Exposing that idiot mayor AGAIN as a gold standard leftie hypocrite wacko. Job well done.

Thank you, also for your extra research.

That's what this place is about. There was a time when these things would happen and no one else would know.

The Internet is always watching, and never forgets.

My Governor says that my price will go down 7 cents a gallon if we allow him to force people out of a job. I myself feel that the difference between $2.89 and $2.82 is worth it to let them keep their jobs!
