Open letter to NC Republicans: Vote for Armor in the 2006 Primary.
Brainshrub.com ^ | April 25, 2006 | Paul -V-

Posted on 05/01/2006 12:55:59 PM PDT by Paul -V-

This will be my first, and last, post on FreeRepublic for a very long time.

I am an unabashed Liberal. However, I want to assure the mods that I am not here to do any trolling. In fact, I just wanted to say a few nice words about Freeper John Armor. (aka April 25, 2006 "Congressman Billybob.")

If you live in NC District 11 and are a Republican, please vote for John Armor in this weeks primary race.

As a yellow-dog Democrat, I will never vote for Armor; but he is a man of integrity and will not accept bribes.

My entire "semi-endorsement" letter is here:

http://www.brainshrub.com/taylor-armor-primary

I won't republish the entire thing here because, like I wrote earlier, I don't want to case any flame wars or get "Zotted." I'm just here to plug a man I'd never vote for, but have to admit that he is better than the incumbent.

I understand the rules for this forum, so I won't be posting here again.

Thank you.

Opps! The Enquirer must've screwed up. The total vote is the same, but now it's 131 of 753 precincts, which would be 17.40%.

That is where Schmidt was weakest. A prediction this race cannot be made.

Yep, from Clermont nothing right now. Totals are up to 21.54% of precincts reporting at the SoS site.

I hope that contest turns around, I seriously believe McEwen will lose us that seat in the general if he beats Schmidt, just like he did in '92. :-(

Representatives are always replaced in a special election. Senators in most states are replaced by governors, although with partisanship rising a few legislatures have taken that power away or modified it, among them Massachusetts.

So, you realize John has integrity yet you admit you have none because you allow a death party to control your vote. Nice

OH-13 (the open Brown seat) might be getting ready to move off the competitive list altogether. Here are the breakdowns so far

Democrats

Sawyer, Thomas C. - 8,205 - 40.72%
Sutton, Betty - 5,486 - 27.23%
Cafaro, Capri S. - 3,901 - 19.36%
Kucinich, Gary J. - 1,757 - 8.72%
Wolfe, John L. - 319 - 1.58%
Lyons, Michael - 255 - 1.27%
Grace, Bill - 158 - 0.78%
Dennerll, Norbert G. - 68 - 0.34%

Republicans

McGrew, David - 2,567 - 37.46%
Foltin, Craig - 1,902 - 27.76%
Ortega, Joe - 1,265 - 18.46%
DeLorean, C.J. - 599 - 8.74%
Burtzlaff, Paul S. - 519 - 7.57%

I'll be very surprised if Craig Foltin loses. He's the only viable Pubbie for the general. Maybe he screwed up and didn't take the primary seriously. He raised 4 times as much as his closest primary opponent but spent about half as much as David McGrew.

Foltin just took the lead and Tom Sawyer just lost his.

Where are you looking for the OH-13 figures? The only ones I have as the SoS ones.

PS. Chuck Blasdel (33.78%) has fallen slightly behind Danny Harmon (33.84%) in OH-06, though there's still not much reported.

Wilson, Charles A.-WI 11,443 58.28%
Carr, Bob 5,840 29.74%
Luchansky, John S. 2,351 11.97

I think we can make a call on this one. The GOP prayed for rain, and ran some clever little adds, but it remained dry.

We can make a call on this one too. This seat will go Dem unless Ney quits.

District 18
Ney, Bob 15,967 70.04%
Harris, James Brodbelt 6,830 29.96%

The nail-biter so far tonight seems to be the GOP nomination for Treasurer.

Close one in the Dem primary in OH-18.

Sulzer, Joe 7,761 34.21%
Space, Zachary T. 7,096 31.28%
Stewart, Jennifer 5,168 22.78%
Applegate, Ralph A. 2,663 11.74%

That didn't last long! Blasdel has pulled well into the lead now (47.57% to 23.33%). OH-06 is probably rather well set. It seems the more interesting primaries will be OH-02 R, OH-18 D, and OH-13 both.

Yes, but it's too close with 50+% precincts in.
