Oh Say Can You See . America is Becoming Mexico (American–you don’t have the right to be offended)
Opinion Editorials ^ | May 01, 2006 | Kaye Grogan

Posted on 05/01/2006 7:16:19 AM PDT by IrishMike

If you are a born American–you don’t have the right to be offended. Now if you are from another country, especially if you are in America illegally, then you can be offended by the traditions and core values in America. All you have to do to get sympathy from our government and watchdog groups like the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU)-- is just complain because Americans haven’t yet accepted the fact, they are supposed to be a country of diversity and it’s totally out-of-the-question to strive for unity. And if you haven’t found out by now, how you can really cause a stink–did you know you can use your children to be offended when the American “Pledge of Allegiance” is recited by American children in American schools–especially if “under God” is said in the recitation?

There are several things that have to occur before we can become a one-world nation: first we have to be brought down to ground-level (make that ground-zero) submissiveness. We have to relinquish our guns; we have to get “in God we trust” off of our currency; we have to forget about equal rights unless we are in America waving flags from another country–demanding amnesty for breaking laws, and waving signs for Americans to get off of their continent. And before too much longer, we should be getting Pesos and the Euro in place of American money. Next, they will be singing the new “Nuestro Himno” in place of our National Anthem at the opening session of congress. And I’ll bet you donuts to a dollar–children will be singing the Spanish version in public schools before long.

While Mexicans are on a roll–somebody needs to implement a Spanish Pledge, and then the United States of America can be renamed Mexico. How’s that for progress?

It's pretty diverse from the news coverage
I have seen so far:
20% properly displayed USA flage
10% inverted USA flags
25% Mexico flags
10% RED HAMMER AND SICKLE FLAGS!!??
35% P.R., Cuba...etc

In a nutshell, that's it.

Funny thing is, we have a guest worker program. It's called the H1b visa program.

Is that just in your state?  I have had Fox News on all morning.  I am anxious to see what they do in California, and California is three hours behind me.  It's only going on 8 am out there.

Hasty response to "Nuestro Himno," the "Spanish version" of "The Star Spangled Banner," sung by some in honor of the nationwide illegal alien protest May 1, 2006.

Brilliant - thanks for the lyrics and the link to hear it!

Reminds of Treasure of the Sierra Madre...."Badges?...we don't have to show you no stinkin Badges."

Got any links to the hammer and sickle flags? I was betting that this would be a "Marxist" rally.

Por La Raza todo. Fuera de La Raza nada.
‘Everything for the Race - Nothing outside the Race’

El Plan de Aztlan is the plan of liberation. In the spirit of a new people that is conscious not only of its proud historical heritage but also of the brutal "gringo" invasion of our territories, we, the Chicano inhabitants and civilizers of the northern land of Aztlan from whence came our forefathers, reclaiming the land of their birth and consecrating the determination of our people of the sun, declare that the call of our blood is our power, our responsibility, and our inevitable destiny.

El Plan Espiritual de Aztlan sets the theme that the Chicanos (La Raza de Bronze) must use their nationalism as the key or common denominator for mass mobilization and organization. Once we are committed to the idea and philosophy of El Plan de Aztlan, we can only conclude that social, economic, cultural, and political independence is the only road to total liberation from oppression, exploitation, and racism. Our struggle then must be for the control of our barrios, campos, pueblos, lands, our economy, our culture, and our political life. El Plan commits all levels of Chicano society - the barrio, the campo, the ranchero, the writer, the teacher, the worker, the professional - to La Causa.

Gonna take a heck of a lot more than a boycott of cinco de mayo to prevent El Plan de Aztlan. Make no mistake, a day without immigrants has little to do with becoming american citizens.

If illegal aliens really are good for the economy, as they claim, and want to hurt this country, GO HOME!

iF ILLEGAL ALIENS WERE NOT AROUND TO TAKE THE LOW PEON WAGES OFFERED BY SOME EMPLOYERS, THE EMPLOYERS WOULD BE FORCED TO RAISE WAGES TO A LEVEL THAT WOULD ATTRACT WORKERS, OR GO OUT OF BUSINESS. IT'S CALLED THE LAW OF SUPPLY AND DEMAND.

Tomorrow you will learn that the "boycott" was a failure. Just another bunch of commies trying to cause trouble. As a English-American I enjoy hearing and seeing Irish flags and songs (Unicorn)on St. Patrick's Day. Also all the Italian flags on Columbus day, and the German, French, Swedish, etc. flags on their days. What have you got against the the showing by Mexican Americans of the Mexican flag?

How about... the fact that they don't want to be Americans, but instead they want America to become Mexico?

Because the Irish, the English, the Germans, the Poles, the Italians - they all came here to live the American Dream - and to become Americans, and they came here legally.

The issue at hand is that the illegals want the American Dream, without the American part - and they have broken into the country.

I know what you mean. If politicians want to repeal the minimum wage laws and other worker-related laws, just be honest about it and do it. The "amnesty" and "guest worker" programs are only a way of doing it through the back door. Then again, if these people become "legal" and subject to these laws, what's to keep employers from just hiring more illegals and paying them under the table, as is happening now? I wonder if we could help "fix social security" by making sure only LEGAL employment takes place and the proper fund contributions were made. It couldn't hurt. Or will all these people finish their journey on the "pathway to citizenship" just in time to collect benefits without having paid into them? WHO THE HELL WILL PAY FOR ALL THIS???!!! I'm ranting now. It does no good.

And no one (but for a very few) in Washington gives a damn.

Maybe we should give back the Louisiana Purchase as well . . .

(dejected sarcasm off)

This is BS!

Where's our buses when we need them?  One guy said that our buses should be brought in and any of these idiots are illegal, load them on the bus and take them back across the damn border.

Nothing was ever given to ME, so why should these people think that they should have everything just handed to them?

Agreed. If it's a "buyer's market" - many, many more people want to come here than we can or will take in - then let's cherry pick the best and the brightest, no matter where they come from.

But wanting to be an American is the number one requirement - in terms of loyalty, culture, language, etc.

It's a grave insult to the many millions of immigrants who came here legally and assimilated, and their families, to compare them with the illegals carrying foreign flags and rewriting our anthem.

What's the difference between this and an act of war? That they don't have guns? (Not yet, anyway.) Vincente Fox has been very clear in his program: with dual citizenship, etc. he is colonizing the South West. And none of our politicians care.

I do not intend to vote third party or "stay home" this November. My Congressman is the best I can hope for, and in any other races when faced with the choice of the lousy Republican or the even worse Democrat I pick lousy, not worse.

But I wish the White House would realize how DEMORALIZING this is for the base. Will all the Hispanics he is trying to pick up keep him from a Democrat congress, and impeachment? I dunno. I think it's insulting to Hispanics to assume they support illegal immigration - should we also assume Irish support drunk driving, or Italians the Mafia? Of course not. See how offensive it sounds?

But if the Dems take over, and Bush finds himself in the impeachment dock, I will blame him as much as anyone who does not vote for him.

Sad, but true.

If I'm wrong, and painting too dire a picture, I'd be happy to be corrected.

Agreed.

Maybe we should all come up with some claims as to how our homes were "originally not US land," and stop paying our property taxes.
