Investors Fleeing GOP
Investors at all income levels are increasingly turning away from the Republican Party, endangering the GOP's hold on power.
According to pollsters, 35 percent of voters belong to the "investor class," which includes not only wealthy individuals but also union members, mutual fund holders and a growing number of minority-group Americans.
They comprise a group that helped put Republicans in power "but now seems restless," Business Week reports.
President Bush got the votes of 61 percent of investors in 2004, but now only 43 percent give him a favorable job approval rating, according to a recent Zogby International poll.
"Investors' complaints include the administration's handling of Hurricane Katrina and the Dubai Ports deal, the management of the Iraq war, the $8.2 trillion national debt, soaring gasoline prices and immigration policy," according to Business Week.
Even Wall Street appears to be turning away from the GOP. As NewsMax has reported, last year Democrats beat Republicans in raising political donations from the financial industry, the first time the party outdid Republicans since 1994.
Investors' dissatisfaction could result in defections from the GOP in numbers sufficient to have a seriously detrimental effect on Republican candidates in the 2006 midterm elections.
But while investors appear alienated from the GOP, they remain skeptical that Democrats would do any better on economic issues, Business Week notes.
Bruce Bagley, a small-business owner in California, told the magazine that if Democrats were to take over Congress, investors would have a "bull's-eye" on their back.
At least SOME of those, who claim they have supported the RNC in the past, but don't do so know are very likely exactly the ones this article is talking about.
The new 'Republicans vote on Wednesday' game

Yep. After the first few years it's kind of like listening to Howard Dean saying he's no longer going to support the RNC.
To where? The Democrats? If that's where they are going, the title should be Morons Fleeing GOP.
I think the big problem is the GOP has turned away from Reaganism.
"What is wrong with this picture......Zogby poll."
BINGO!
vaudine
LOL.
I was concerned at first, then I saw it was a zombie poll.
Club for Growth, Club for Growth
Yea, thank you very much, Ross Perot and those who voted for him.
This is BS. OK. They may be disenchanted with Republican spending but they are a tad more than "skeptical" about the dems. Give me a break. This is another push article trying to split Republicans.
"...35 percent of voters belong to the "investor class,"
"...President Bush got the votes of 61 percent of investors in 2004,
"...but now only 43 percent give him a favorable job approval rating, .
The jackasses at Zogby International poll (conveniently) forgot to fill the fourth square in this four-blocker comparison logical table. We also need to know what percent of voters claimed to be investors in 2000. For instance, many jobless libs during the 2000-2003 economic crunch may have pulled their investments to buy food to eat. In 2006, they are back investing and swaying polls such as this.
This would be especially true as Baby Boomer Hippies are now seeing retirement at their horizon, and are seeing that Social Security for them will be a bust.
Zogby is either deceptive or stupid, take your pick.

Flight Of The Investor Class
Defections are endangering the GOP's hold on power
Everything changes, everything in economics is in flux at all times, in a most chaotic (butterfly effect) way and you simply must establish certain way points in the trend and act accordingly.
That's okay. He's decided to not run for reelection so I don't think he'll miss your donation.
You can fill in the blank with any number of issues and we've heard it before. The RNC is doing fine with their fund raising.
