I turned it off when he came on.
I wish I had been smart enough to turn him off, too. But if George and Laura could be adult enough and Christian enough not to flinch, I figured I could stick with them through it.
However, I'm not as nice as they are and I was only comforted by the thought that at least this leftie wasn't even funny, just bad dialog in another dumb and dumber movie.
I'm glad Dick Cheney and Lynn Cheney were smart enough to pass on being there. Wonder if that move had anything to do with knowing who the "comedian" was going to be.
Because of who had been chosen in the past, I thought that the President was given a say in the choice. I remember Ben Stein doing poorly, Cedric the Entertainer doing better and I can't remember who got the spots in between. In the end the Bushes outshone all the comedians, but none so much as this poorly chosen one.
I heard John Stewart didn't do so well at the Academy Awards, either.
And what list would THAT be?
List of people who can't be trusted to appreciate my odd ball sense of humor.
I never liked the Three Stooges, for instance. I find reality extremely amusing, like the fact that you care what I think about this is extremely amusing.
If you were kidding with that remark, a smiley face emoticon might be helpful in conveying that to people. Sometimes just words don't come across as well....
I did hear that none of the libs were expecting Steve Bridges. After all, the other guy was supposed to be the 'entertainment'.
TV is dangerous to my health and all living things.
That's my motto and I'm sticking to it.
HOWEVER, reading about stuff on FR is the best part of the day.
She does the WABC radio news at the top of the hour every day and she never fails to spin the news in the ugliest way possible when it comes to our President.
Class, dignity, honor, truth, national security.....you name it....bashing the President and harming the republicans is all that matters.
Yes.
You missed a diabollicly mean-spirited, nay vicious, public attack.
My husband and I were trying to get outside of ourselves as Bush respecters and supporters, and were asking ourselves last night if ANYone could think that horrific excuse for a comedy routine was funny.
We concluded that only leftists who hate the President and think anything nasty said about him, regardless of how stupid it was, could think Colbert was funny last night.
And anyone who says that was funny on this forum is on my 'list' as well.......
i haven't looked though this whole thread but does anyone know if this video can be downloaded on the internet? I missed it and saw the highlights on Michelle Malkin's hotair michellemalkin.com, just wanted to see the whole thing.
The President and "President's" performance was masterful.
The contrast with Colbert was breathtaking. Like going from a mountaintop to spiderhole...........sorta. ;)
thats what i noticed from the highlights that i saw, Stephen Colbert was unfunny, W and the impersonator were hilarious. I just wanted to see the whole thing unedited. if someone could upload the movie to YouTube or PutFile it would be appreciated.
If Bush had any control of the dinner, would he have invited Joe "Media Whore" Wilson? It is basically just up to the AP who is invited.
"Skunk Baxter???
I don't know he was only on for a moment"
No, the lady sitting next to Tony Snow I meant. Sorry
I really didn't know you were the final arbiter of humor on this forum. My apologies if I missed the memo....
You also wrote: "only leftists who hate the President and think anything nasty said about him, regardless of how stupid it was, could think Colbert was funny last night."
Calling people derogatory names because they have a different opinion than you is something I would expect from a Dumbocrat, not a TRUE conservative.
I take GREAT issue with your declaration that since I like him, I have NO sense of humor. NOTHING could be further from the truth...I just have a DIFFERENT one than you.
You are so right--the President's 'performance' was brilliant.
Colbert's calculated "act" was a Bush-bashing, say-it-in-the-President's-face attack. His intention was to embarrass and humiliate the President knowing that he had a captive audience.
It was contemptible!
"All I can honestly say after a night like this is.....the only good democrat is a dead one!And any Republican that does not support our president is just as bad if not worse.I love President Bush!Anyone that claims to be a Christian and votes democrat is a liar!"
Alright, FoGW, I'm calling you out. You're a troll.
