Maoists slit 13 throats

MAOIST rebels in India slit the throats of 13 of 40 tribal villagers abducted earlier this week in the restive central state of Chhattisgarh, police said today.

The killings are the latest in a series in some of the dozen or so states where Maoist guerrillas operate. The bodies were found deep in the forest 22km from a government-run relief camp which was near the spot where the group had been taken hostage at gunpoint in revolt-hit Dantewada district.

"The bodies had multiple wounds and rebels killed them by slitting their throats," district police chief Praveer Das said.

Yesterday, police in Chhattisgarh found two bullet-ridden bodies of men, part of the group who had been seized, taking the toll from the kidnapping to 15.

The tribals had been returning to Dornpal relief camp in Dantewada district 550km south of the state capital Raipur.

Maoist rebels, who claim to fight for India's poor peasants and landless labourers, suspect many villagers at government relief camps to be part of a state-backed anti-Maoist group.

The rebel campaign – being fought across huge swathes of southern, central and eastern India – has killed at least 135 people, mostly civilians, in Chhattisgarh since January including the latest fatalities.

In violence this week, police shot dead 11 Maoists yesterday in Andhra Pradesh state, which neighbours Chhattisgarh, while 13 people were killed when rebels set off a landmine in Chhattisgarh under a vehicle, probably mistaking it for a police jeep.

Mao killed tens of millions of innocent Chinese people. The press should respond to a political group that calls itself "Maoist" the same way they'd respond to a political group that calls itself "Hitlerist".

They will not.
And why would the press respond the same way? They identify with the goals and ideals of the Maoist cutthroats, and morally have no problems with the ways they are achieving them. And the reason they call their political enemies “Hitlerist” is because of the bad and dirty association it brings up in our mind. In the mind of the average men, the left successfully distanced itself from the “Hitlerist” version of socialism.

In the culture of treason, we should not make the mistake to assume neutrality and constructive positive purpose from the anti-progress and anti-American partisan media.

Whenever the ChiComms want to expand their influence, expect "Maoist rebels" to show up and commit atrocities.
Currently, "Maoists rebels" are in Nepal, Peru and Mexico. Don't be surprised to see them show up on the US/Mexican border in the future.
